I got an new one from Telestar and it works perfectly, online for 2 days straight.
It is a new revision and i have the feeling switching channels is faster.
What do you mean “a new revision”.

Fine just follow chewitt advice and supply the information he requested
you'll need to share the URL from "dmesg | paste" with the drive connected for anyone to comment.
I’m getting a headache reading through all your quoted responses. Are you a school teacher by any chance. Remember we are only trying to help here.
Wikis by nature depend on people updating them, not always being the case. Post on the Kodi forum for the latest update on this situation. It’s constantly changing.
In the meantime try using OSMC for the full OS experience with Kodi on the RPI as outlined here. It may or may not resolve your original issue. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-kodi-raspberry-pi/
Saw that and I also believe that as soon as that happens the quality and robustness that the NUC is known for will fly straight out the window.
ArchLinux is the only distribution to include the latest version of Kodi.
The version provided by Ubuntu is obsolete and the ARM version does not exist on Flathub.
Cool !
How do I enter the command? In SSH?
Not exactly the place for this but just add an up to date Kodi PPA for Ubuntu https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2023…ppa-ubuntu/amp/
You can pretty well do this for any flavour of Linux. You’re certainly not restricted to Arch Linux because it’s repos have an up to date version of Kodi.
Also, don't listen to these cheap RPI4 bargains, if you want to have decent HTPC, invest into some NUC or NVIDIA PC
Is that the over priced NUC that Intel have decided to discontinue manufacturing that you are referring to. That is sound advice indeed. https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/11/2379…pc-discontinued
I have 27 3,5" HDD (142TB) connected to 4 Pi4, all disks are NTFS, after several months i had zero issues so far.
Wtf, are you running a data centre or a server farm. I wouldn’t like to see your electricity bill.
While you are successfully using NTFS formatted drives with LE on a Pi4 you are probably very much in a minority here. A quick search of the forum here would verify that.
The idea is to use the Raspberry Pi for a low-consumption media center, hence my choice of LibreElec given the hardware involved.
As for the file system, it must be able to store files larger than 4 GB.
If there's really no possibility, I'll turn to ArchLinux, which includes the latest version of Kodi in its repositories.
Well my initial suggestion would have been to turn to a Linux based solution other than LE but with the mention of Windows compatibility i thought that this was another Windows user just wanting LE to be a Windows application.
Yes as mentioned above it is possible to use a Windows friendly formatted drive but if you do a little more searching here you’ll quickly see the drawbacks it entails for most.
Personally I’d have chosen Ubuntu but I assume from your choice of Arch Linux you’re no stranger to Linux. I do vaguely remember having to use an RPI4 specific kernel to get it to boot correctly but they may have all changed since.
It's formated in exFat, from Windows (I have files larger than 4 GB and the disk must be able to be read from another system).
I tested from RasperryPi OS and the disk is readable if you install the associated "fuse exfat" package.
I think you already know your answer so. Windows and Linux file systems as you know don’t play well together and clearly LE is a minimalist Linux OS. If you need Windows compatibility that badly why not use Kodi for Windows.
So this is all I would need, and maybe a 32gb Micro SD card? I also plan on getting the Kodi case if I did go with a RPI4. I just don't know what else I would need.
One of my concerns is that I have a very large library (5000+ Movies and 20,000+ Episodes) and I am using a 250GB SSD drive, and it has used 178 GB so far. I am not sure if I would have to use an external SSD drive on the RPI4, and in doing so, would that not be a slower option to run LE, as oppose to the Micro SD drive, which appears to be insufficient in regards to capacity?
Thank for all your advice,
Shedrock
These are hobby boards. The hobby in the case is LE. Make your own case. Yes an 8gb SD card would probably do and yes for storage you’re only limited by your imagination.
You’re probably overthinking things here. Keep costs to a minimum and create a personalised bespoke system unique to yourself. Whatever you do create will be more than acceptable to run LE and handle your media collection.
Display MoreHi,
I have an Raspberry Pi 4 in Argon One M.2 case and I want to store my datas in an external drive.
I choose a SSD 1 TB with USB case (https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B07MBQPQ62 + https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0BGS3NZ4C) but I can't browse my drive.
I can navigate to ./media/ssd_samsung_evo_270/ but no further.
In the other messages, power supply is the first point raised.
But my case has a power supply of 18 W (5V - 3.5 A) and should therefore be sufficient.
Have you an idea ?
You don’t mention how you have it formatted.
Sorry to be a pain guys. I am still shopping around and trying to research the best mini PC to run LibreELEC Nexus on. Can someone please tell me if this will do the job?

It’s absolute overkill for LE. Why not choose the RPI4 2gb model. Great back up community behind it too and a fraction of the price.
wire too.
I tried the twin directly on the internet router, same things, after some hours i cant ping the twin.
right now the LAN connection is working, but i cant watch any channel, it just hangs there.
could my twin be broken?
That does sound strange alright. I assume you can access the Twin remotely and have checked all the settings on it. Have you any other device you could use to watch TV on other than the RPI just to test that the problem is not the Twin but actually the RPI. Do you have a PC possibly you could use.
petediscrete Thanks for your tips. I am still checking all those things, however, so far nothing suspicious. In the meantime, I recorded the behaviour in a short video. As you can see, the spinner is still shown during playback, and after pressing stop, the channel list is empty. As I cannot provoke this issue, I have not recorded the populated channel list in the beginning of the video.
Have you any video add ons installed that may be causing the issue. Also check the frequency of your EPG update. That’s another element that can affect live TV performance.
wired, i connected it directly to my router, maybe my wiring is wrong, i leave it for some hours that way
No I mean your RPI
mmmh, now thte third time the twin is gone, kodi complains no free adapter ist there, in the backend the devices are gone.
Rebooting the twin twice helped, is this a twin problem? I gave it a fixed adress in hope that would help.
can I change the IP Adress without risking that tvheadend doesnt find it anymore?
Is this a wired or wireless setup. Sounds like you’re loosing connection to the Twin on the LAN. My system is wired and I’ve no issues connecting to the Twin
i completely reseted my tvheadend installation and did a fresh scan, it seems now I have all astra 19,2 channels.
haven’t heard back from the landlord, the firm that did the satellite installation seems out of business.
The twin did disappear 2 times, i gave it a fixed IP adress, hope that helps.
thanks for your support on settings this up.
That’s good news. For the price of the R1 you could have three Twins with money to spare and as you can see once set up correctly it’s perfect. I reckon your config files corrupted somehow.
If you can manage to get a second feed into the Twin you’ll see the benefits of it. Hopefully you landlord can show you the dish setup. You could easily run a cable from it directly as a second feed.
Glad it’s working now.
Well are you up and running now. I’m asking for others who may come across this post.
