First try with its own dtb file. If not work try another dtb for the S905

I got a MINIX U1 with LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz and everything is working fine, except 2 Points:
- when i play a channel on Live TV 1080p, it shows only black screen and in the right corner of the OSD Menu the symbols are flickering.
other channels work fine.
- under Network it shows my Connections and adresses, except my DNS doesnt show up.
The only AMLOGIC Extras i activated is the Force RGB, cause the used TV is a old Philipps.
Am i using the right Image and is there a way to get my 1080p channels working in RGB Mode?And is it normal that my DNS is not diplayed?

I don't know if it may solve your problems but you can try it.
Other similarity, I tried to activate the Force RGB because I have an old Sony tv ,but in my case it didn't work, so I had to create an autostart.sh file
Yes, as it contains the contents of /storage/.cache .config and .kodi .. and autostart.sh lives in .config

If you image a working SD card you are creating a file that matches the 16GB? of the card, even if the card only has 1GB of actual data on it. It would be faster to create a backup (in LE settings) that you restore after installing the default LE image, as this will only be the actual data. The difference in time is simply the difference in how long it takes to write 1GB vs 16GB (or whatever capacity the SD card is).
Do the backup contain the autostart.sh file too?
I've used for the last months a LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz installed on a Samsung MicroSD EVO Plus 16gb SD card put in a Minix U1 (S905X) connected to a 2009 Sony TV.
I had to add an autostart.sh file because I had the pink screen problem and "Force RGB" setting in Amlogic section of the configuration didn't work.
Every 30-40 days the SD card has to be reflashed because LE stop booting.
To avoid the procedure of creating an autostart file each time, I made an image of the SD card after I've added autostart file, and I use that to reflash the card when I need to.
My problem is that reflashing take about 30 minutes, while using the original LE version it takes 5 minutes or so.
I don't understand why there's a difference and I'd like to know if it's possible to put an autostart file into the original image to shorten the times of reflashing.
Anybody can help me?

In fact my Minix U1 has an infrared remote and cannot shut down properly. It goes in suspension when I push the on/off button. Could you please consider to fix it in future?
Another issue with 8.2.4.2test2 version is that after 30-40 days of daily use it stops working and I have to reflash the SD card (the Samsung recomended).
About the S905W devices I agree especially if you have just a 1080 tv. With a 4k you are bound to 30fps max

I'd like to report some bugs in LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz version running on a Minix U1
1) IR remote: if I press power button to shutdown the box, it goes in suspendend mode instead of shutdown.
2) If you resume from suspended mode, the audio volume is at max and you can't adjust it until you reboot.
3) The amlogic menu options to force rgb output does't work. I had to create an autostart.sh file. ( I have a 2009 Sony tv)
Anyway the overall behavior is very good and the file playing smooth. Thank you for your work

I would use another more recent version without change dtb file: LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz

For me it worked out of the box. Trying this is much easier than create a remote.conf. A lot easier

I tried on a Minix U1 but when I type dmesg-c no code is shown (like in the previous post relative to Minix U9). Anyone knows how to do?
On a Minix U1 with IR remote if I press power button to shutdown the box it goes in suspendend mode. Does anyone know how to make the power button to shutdown it properly?

Attempted to install LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz by placing the file in the update folder on my S905 MiniMX iii, but received an error at boot saying that it was actually for a S912.
The same happend to me. The Test2 is the right one: LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz
Try it with its own dtb file. If it doesn't work change dtb file.

I have installed LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz on a Minix U1 connected to a 2009 Sony Tv needing ForceRGB setting and it worked.
I set on the ForceRGB option in Amlogic menu and reboot but unfortunately the pink screen issue shows the same. Even on the original Android firmware there's a force rgb option that doesn't work as well.
Before this Minix I had a S905W box that had force rgb on Android and it worked: the option was named "RGB 8 bit" and I saw it on other S905W boxes.
Does S905X have the same output or is it different - I mean it could have an RGB 16 or 32 bit output as I saw mentioned in MX Player interface?
How can I check if the Force RGB option on Libreelec changed something in the configuration files?

Has the release LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz a "Force RGB" option in settings? I have an old Sony TV needing rgb output.
From my experience using Amlogic Chip boxes attached to my 1080p TV I was happy using LE until i Purchased a Rock64 RK3328 chip.
The picture Quality on the Rock64 is far superior to any Amlogic chip Box that i have owned. The only one that is close to the Rock64 is my K1 Pro S905D Chip. The S905W is GARBAGE. Picture is the worst of all.
I have no idea why but it is a big difference. I would not recommend an Amlogic Chip for that reason alone.
Beware Rockchip 3328 with LE is not stable but very usable for what you require. For the future it will be stable and with Rockchip staff responding to LE forum is a big step towards stability.

is there any recommends for 905/x box? I need one cheap box only for playing videos from an external drive. The videos are only 1080p, h264.. so standards.
The box would be only play this files, so no addons or smth else.
