.mkv is just a container, the video can be of multiple origin, get the media info while playing it, it could be VC1 or something not supported.

Not all Sata to USB-adapters work, i have 4 that do work and 4 enclosures for M2 SSD that works, i probably returned at least 5 that didnt.

Buying "Ultra High Speed Certified" cables will reduce a lot of hassle and they are not that high priced, i have 5 or 6 of those 1-3 meters and i payed 10-15 euros.

So make sure you are using an HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 cable.

if you need better than 1080p or 4K @ 30 Hz you want something like category 3 or above.

Dont know about sdcardreader on Pi4, but on 3B+ r/w-speed is about 23MB/s, if you want better performance use USB3 SSD.

Dont upgrade, do a clean install, lots of changes from your old version, addons and such will probaly not work anymore.

I'm having the same trouble using a case (Argon One) that has a passthrough board for both HDMI ports. Even with only my output coming from HDMI 0.
Try without the Argon case, it will probaly work just fine.

It only happens when both HDMI ports are connected, with only one HDMI port connected the picture is fine.

A small 12V fan on 5V GPIO or a small 5V fan on 3,3V GPIO is really quiet.

How do you install this?
Drop the .tar in the Update-folder and reboot.
