This should be helpful for a bunch of users that require faster data transfer rates for LibreELEC.
You may even be able to stream 4K HDR Bluray Rips without too many issues over 100M only LAN.

Now after much struggle i installed 8.2.1 OC Version and afterwards i installed C2 GUI Version.
Now you released 32bit version. I cant simply drop it in update folder and update to 32Bit no? Is this better than 64Bit 8.2.3 GUI Version?
Can you tell me how to update without losing my current addons
If using an aarch64bit C2 version and you want use the ARM 32bit C2 version you will have to do a LibreELEC .tar backup (see LE wiki) and store the .tar backup externally on a PC.
Then completely reflash a 32bit LE C2 from: LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-C2.img.gz
And then restore your LE .tar backup. Un-install incompatible Addons (add on settings will still be retained) and reinstall 32bit compatible Addons.
I've withdrawn the 64bit C2 version from this thread completely as it is only causing 32bit LE .tar update problems.
I'm not sure to be honest.
It's simply impossible to test all AMLogic hardware combos and device trees.
The new ones are all based on @kszaq's originals anyway with mods for GPU overclocking.
I might recheck when I get time.
White , looks like you have been dudded.
That dtb from android.zip you supplied is for a 1GB device only.
I get the same as results as Emerson above.
Use the gxl_p212_1g from the following folder and rename it to dtb.img and also throw a v8.2.4.2 .tar into the Update folder and reboot:
That will give you 792Mhz GPU clock capabilities. You only really need 1GB for AML LibreELEC anyway.
Yes, VFD support is only built into Leia builds.
It's possible to make it work on LE8 builds, but it requires a bit of work and I don't provide support for it.
Look at this post.
Erm that is not entirely correct.
My v8.2.4.2 Krypton S905 builds defiantly have VFD support.
I have a VFD display working on a S905W box (A95X-R2) after following THIS guide.
Also used were the new v8.2.4.2 device trees found in the following folder:MEGA
You also have to install the service.openvfd-1.0.1.zip Addon that I compiled for LibreELEC.
Thx. for reminding me.
wrxtasy: do you really care for the Odroid C2 customers ? now i am feeling like you really give a very good software support. i am happy that i bought odroid c2 because you are solving odroid C2 users problems. keep it up
Finally had an afternoon free:
This is a 32bit ODROID-C2 LE 8.2.4.2 release, it is update compatible with @kszaq's C2 LE only:
LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-C2.tar
If you look in the boot.ini file you can safely Overclock the C2's CPU's to 1.752GHz
The Overclocked C2 is still the fastest non-HDR S9xx device in the AMLogic arsenal, especially when used with eMMC flash storage.
but since AML don't really care a damn for their small Linux base this is unlikely to happen. Expect these boxes to become more broken as time goes on.
All the doom and gloom - I'm sure the Open Source community and talented Linux developers can manage something that might be worthy of your high standards !
I agree with chewitt too.
Moreover Odroid C2 is not a old Hardware. Now the developers are concentrating on the new upcoming Devices i guess. Did a mistake in buying C2. Should have bought a cheap s905 Box.
Do you have Video stuttering at the beginning of Video and also in between? I hate it. I have 50mbps here. Even then it sucks....
Patience Grasshopper, I do have a full time job you know.
64bit LE compatible with official LibreELEC C2 releases (not 32bit kszaq) start over on the Kodi thread:
ODROID C2 S905 2GB RAM HDMI 2.0 $46
All the later ones from that post onwards start including all my additions that the S912 and S905X releases have here.
I will try and look at a 32bit C2 compatible release this weekend.
Now back to the Aussie rules Footy...
wrxtasy: can you make the latest Test version fposted here with latest tweaks and patches to work on Odroid C2 ?
i installed with the above command. but now i have Black screen of Death. i cant see the main Screen of Libreelec. Any fix expected soon from you or is it too much to ask for buying Odroid C2 ?
Grab the last working kszaq LE C2 .tar release and uncompressed it on a PC / Mac.
Then overwrite the SYSTEM and KERNEL files on the SD / eMMC.
That should hopefully restore a working setup.
Not at home base at the moment, will do a 32bit compatible C2 release when I'm back.
Otherwise do a complete reflash of a LE C2 standard release and then upgrade with my aarch.tar update.
the links dont tell much about installion to emmc from sd ..... a detailed and in english guide to best install this ext4 build would be the best
Please start a new thread about this eMMC business.
I am getting error in installing latest test build on odroid c2.
i was using ksazq build. what should i do now ?
Accessing LibreELEC [LibreELEC.wiki]
touch /storage/.update/.nocompat
Remember kszaq C2 releases are .arm (32bit) - the ones I do are .aarch64 (64bit) for the C2.
The SSH password for my C2 releases after updating will then be "le"
Some Addons may not work. Simply Uninstall them and re-install from the LibreELEC repository. All settings will be retained.
I can not open the file exchange mega.nz
my internet block it if you can transfer it to another storage
Yandex, Google, etc.
Try this folder...
HI wrxtasy wetekdvb not work i have wetek play2
i test this but not tuner found in tvh
Try the v8.2.4.2-Test2-wetekdvb.rar release found in the Mega Folder or mirrored here:
Kodi-Krypton-AMLogic (Google Drive)
Also S905X & S905W can now GPU Overclock to 792MHz (a new device tree may be needed). I have not seen any issues.
Makes for a speedier GUI.
I swear AMLogic are purposely constraining lower spec devices GPU clocks simply for marketing purposes.
For those updating from the previous v8.2.4.2-Test you will have to do this again (for the last time):
HI wrxtasy wetekdvb not work i have wetek play2
i test this but not tuner found in tvh
Thx.
Doh !
Thats what happens when you do a "dirty" build - I forgot the wetekdvb driver.
Fixing now with a clean S905 build.
TEST RELEASE S905 / S905D / S905X / S905W:
The following folder contains a v8.2.4.2-Test2.rar S905 test release.
alternate source...
Kodi-Krypton-AMLogic (Google Drive)
This ODROID C2 version (32 bit) is update compatible with kszaq LE versions:
LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-C2.tar
LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-C2.img.gz
The ARM 32bit C2 version above is NOT compatible with aarch64 - 64bit official LE C2 versions, but you can change to 32bit by SSH logging in and issuing this command before a .tar update:
touch /storage/.update/.nocompat
Requirements if upgrading from a kszaq version:
If something does not quite work, also copy a relevant .dtb file into the Update Folder when doing a .tar update (no need to rename)
Notes:
There are extra Kodi options found in: (read the explanations at bottom of Kodi settings screen)
Settings > System > AMLogic
Settings > Player > Videos > Disable Auto Resolution ...
S905W devices are limited to 4K @ Max 30Hz.
S905W devices also require (for OTA TV viewing) - Deinterlaced (picture) Post Processing to be Disabled in Kodi > System > AMLogic settings

Another thing, I saw some youtube reviews and heard people that the A3 remote control had a bad microphone, and I think I saw some posts here that were recommending the older (A2) edition over the new one, is this correct, should I opt for the A2 remote control?
The newer MINIX A3 lite remote has annoying Wake from Sleep issues. There are no such issues with the older A2 lite remote:
Update the dtb.img to a new one as per the instructions on GitHub.
Then this will give you a value of 792cat /sys/class/mpgpu/cur_freq
Do not run the Kodi GUI at any 4K resolution. Leave it a 1080.
I have no time for detailed help.
Sorry.
If i HAAAD to complain, it's that the UI performance is meh, close to 20fps when scrolling a wall list at 1080p. I was expecting more from this chipset. On the stock Android build, kodi is definitely smoother than it is on LibreELEC.
You are Not going to get snappier (vs Android) GUI performance when using current libhybris GPU drivers with LibreELEC on S912's.
We would need proper Linux - ARM Mali-T820 GPU drivers from AMLogic to see any improvements, those are not available.
It's a shame AMLogic think their current Flagship S912 chipset is not worth licensing the required GPU drivers from ARM.
This is the problem with closed source licensed drivers.
Have you enabled the GPU 792MHz option in:
(you may need an updated .dtb as well)
Settings > System > AMLogic ?
