Amlogic S905X + GENIATECH Mygica HDStar DVB S2 V3 Issue

Hi,

first of all thanks to you guys for all you efforts specially "kszaq" with all the great builds for Amlogic S905/S905X

here i have an issue i am using the latest build "[8.1.6] LibreELEC 8.2 for S905/S905X"

and just purchased a GENIATECH Mygica HDStar DVB S2 which later turned to be the revision "V3" that is not supported by Linux mainline DVB drivers.

i have searched the entire web "literally" till i found that "afl1" has a patched version in this post for Older version of kszaq builds

how can i know if the correct driver patch in the latest build "[8.1.6] LibreELEC 8.2 for S905/S905X" to know if i have another problem to solve ?

if not how we can get the patched driver to be in current and future builds ?

Here some information " which i can't understand" shows that patching and details with some codes "also i don't understand it" to update it

Hi scorpian

I'm using kszaq S912 latest build and the geniatech v3 works.

So I assume the S905 will have it working also.

scropion86 I have deleted your duplicate post, please keep discussion in one place. Please first try if the tuner works. If it doesn't, please post logs and maybe some DVB experts can help.

these patch should be in (idk which version but everything after january works) so it should work

not all the demux are showing signal despite i use the input in other DVB-S receiver and signal is Ok and i can scan these transponders

looks like an driver bug/problem - not much I can do

the card/stick is known problematic - better get an proper one.

CvH some users has reported that ubuntu with this patch is working for them can this be aplyed to LE or can you guide me to how to do this.

I am using DVBSKy S960 DVB-S/S2 USB with latest kszaq build on amlogic s905x Beelink MINI MXIII II

Every thing is working properly thanks to kszaq, I highly recommend it rather than the geniatech v3.

You can find it on ebay, little bit expensive but fully supported in linux and libreelec.

Yes Its is DVB-S2 HEVC/UHD so it should work if you have the right decoder

DVB-S2 HEVC/UHD channels - Astra 2E/2F/2G at 28.2°E

My tv is only 1080p however the channels are working perfectly without any stuttering or lag and I think it will work on 4K tv

But in no S905 chip versions the 2nd tuner does not work.

there is an WP2 version with media_build (afaik) from GDPR-1

Dear CvH; I know that.

I have two devices, WP2 and MCool K1 Pro.

One is S905, the other is S905D

I connected and tested the TBS 5980 and 5990 Tuners to both devices.

There is no problem when I use it as a single, but when I turn on the tuner inside and open the USB tuner, it breaks down.

It's not both recording and watching.

So it does not support the chip.
