  • Hi
    Okay. Thank you.
Maybe you explain it to me so i try to understand and to learn.
Which linux version you using? I tried some Ubuntu yesterday installed in virtual box.

  • Currently all this extra touchscreen stuff is build as part of the image. I did rewrote some parts and transform this functionality into addon. Will take few days to test and then I will give you the addon.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS but v16 is fine too (64 bit of course).

  • Schorschi79, if you can try this addon I just made. I made only few tests and seems to be working.

    Install addons manually
    service.system.tslib-8.0.100.100-RPi-arm.zip
    or
    service.system.tslib-8.0.100.100-RPi2-arm.zip
    and Estouchy skin
    kodi-theme-Estouchy-17.0-beta1-81d5d26.zip

Then you need to configure it like described in LibreELEC
follow steps in 7.1 regarding ts_env.sh file. The only change is that path is not

    Code
    1. /storage/.config/ts

but /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.system.tslib. Skip autostart and calibration part. Just reboot and under addons look for calibration addon and calibrate screen. Immediately after calibration touch should work and you can switch to Estouchy skin.

I only have two special LVDS displays which works out of the box on Udoo imx6 board. I don't have any HDMI screen with USB touch but I know they work well when configured properly. The biggest I know of is 40" display on RPi used in museum used by visitors

UPDATE: rearranged few things and now I have service.system.touchscreen addon.

  • Hello vpeter, great work! Do you make this addon also for other platforms? I asume this one is only for the raspberry?

Yes, this one is only for RPi. The idea is to put this addon into libreelec repository for everyone who needs it without requiring special image with everything included.

I need to make few more tests before that. If you need addon for some other platform let me know.

I'm using generic_64 on my Nuc's and I am verry happy that you decided to do an addon. So I don't need to compile for every beta... :D

  • Hi,

    i try to test it.
But with the new Kodi i don't see my touchdevice in the eventlist.
So i can't Integrate the input/event number into the script 'ts_env.sh'.

    Any idea?

Install System tools addon and run evtest program. There should be your touchscreen. Which one is exactly?

  • Hi,

    Which Systemtools?

I installed your addon's and reboot my system. I also tested it without reboot.
Then run evtest to show all events. Bevore disconnected all my USB-devices. Only my touch is connected.
There were no events found. Kodi 17

With Libreelec 7.0.1 (kodi 16) and tslib integration i see my touch with the name

    Dell ST2220 Multitouch

It looks like the kernel don't found any HID - Driver for my touch.

  • I put addon service.system.touchscreen in Index of /touchscreen/. It must be manually installed along with Estouchy skin.

To actually use touchscreen it must be manually configured. I would like to automate it or at least make more user friendly in the future but for now it is like that - follow post #59 for setting ts_env.sh and ts.conf. File can be edited on Windows over samba too.
After this 2 files are correctly set the system must be rebooted.

If all goes well I will put addon in libreelec repository for easy install.
    [hr]

But i don't see my touch in the event list.

Then it is not enabled in kernel? In which image it works and in which image it doesn't - so I can compare kernel config.
