Write error [solved]

  • Hi everybody.

This might be a dumb question, but I'm really stuck here.
I have a running installation of LibreElec on my Raspberry Pi 3. But I forgot to enable ssh in the first boot. So I wanted to reinstall it again. I took the sdcard out of the Pi and wanted to write the LibreElec image via the usb-sd creator tool to it (on my win 10 machine), but I always get a write error. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for your help...

  • Maybe you have some application using the drive.

And why do you need to reinstall to enable ssh? Go into settings and enable it there.

  • I read that there is no way to activate ssh after the first boot. I will try...

  • You could also try formatting the SD card first - sometimes that works.

If that fails, it could be a corrupt SD card, or a faulty reader.

SSH can be enable in the LE program addon.

  • Thanx I'll try that in the evening. Will keep you posted...

  • If you forgot to enable ssh and no longer have access to the Kodi GUI, simply add "ssh" (without quotes) to the end of the line in cmdline.txt (you'll find it in the root of the SD card).
