did you tried the RPi2/3 builds ? MAYBE this works (its also 32bit armv7)

I hate having to ask you for the new nightlies. Is building the addon something i can do locally? So I wont bug you? I can easily setup build environments.

its relatively easy but you have to backport a lot

if you need nightlies for 8.2 you can just grab mine, if you wanne rebuild at current master you need at least tvheadend42: add gpu transcoding support · CvH/LibreELEC.tv@d539044 · GitHub (you need to manual edit, commit will not apply because it needs an rebase)

Basically you have to go to the transcoding settings, create an new transcoding profile with mmal, create an NEW streaming profile and use the transcoding profile you made.

yes tested it but didn't get it working (also not at raspbian) so I guess it is still broken

afaik this is already known, the whole gpu transcoding is a bit hacky atm also for intel etc hw

CvH any chance you can build an 8.2 updated pvr.hts addon? Or if it has to be built into the full LE build - perhaps when you get a chance you can update to latest pvr.hts?

I switched my build environment over to LE 9 - and I've been testing the new feature to pass extended epg genre information from TVH to kodi - working well in LE 9 - but wanted to give a test in LE 8.2 if possible.

Just hoping I don't have to setup another build environement!

We have already the latest version at our image. There is no way to backport the latest master version to Krypton.

Didn't realize that it was a backport situation - thanks for that info! Looks like I'll focus on developing my EZTV setup for LE 9. Hopefully I'll have it ready to include with launch.

I realize you said that we couldn't do a full backport of the newer pvr.hts - but this patch should be enough to enable the new category/genre function that is working in LE 9.

Basically, with this function added to pvr.hts and the new commits just added to tvh service - you can choose to have Kodi display the original catgeories/genres from the xmltv.xml file instead of Tvh trying to do a match to the built in, limited genres.

I have currently no build machine that can build LE8.2 (Ubuntu >=17.10 doesn't work for LE8.2).

You can use a VM to test it - pretty easy and fast Works with every normal Generic release (also Milhouse builds etc).

do you use a LE official WP2 image?

did you tried an older version if that works ?
