Next LibreELEC release?

  • I'm wondering what may be planned for the next release.

Am I right in expecting, that the release would be 13.0, and it will be shipped with Kodi 22? Therefore the team is waiting for Kodi 22 to be released beforehand?

Is it (relatively) save to use current nightlies instead of an official release?

    TIA

  • It will be called LE13 and it will contain K22. There are nightly images available for about 1.5 years (and I've been running them with only self-inflicted problems ever since without issue). There will be a beta once a few more things are squared away. Not much more to say.. there are too many other changes in the OS to make a list /shrug

  • i asked this myself too recently ;)

With Kodi 22 just around the corner it will be not too far away, i guess. I'm looking forward to it and put my Raspi5 in the "just Kodi" role about a year ago. No more dockers running on it, no more TV-Headend server on it, just a "plain" Kodi-Playback device. No more hassles when updating... So, i'm trigger-happy to try out LE13 once it's available :) - in the past i had too many problems with Tv-Headend, Docker and so on when updating to new majors.

  • You mean CEC? My remote control worked instantly, but it's not infra red based, it works through an USB dongle like a wireless mouse or keyboard.

Air mouse 2.4G motion sensing mouse PSV1100-FBAD(V1100)*250 Andoer universal F... (for?) mini PC HTPC

It seems to have IR too, but I'm sure I use it with WLAN.

  • yes, as i understand all keys of the remote need to be assigned new ;)

they won't be imported i guess?

In my case, with MCE IR remote, almost all remote buttons working with LE13, especially the common buttons. Were few "special" buttons, but that can be resolved in "keyboard.xml". Example the button with a DVD simbol, had named "menu" in LE12 and remote.xml, in LE13 and keyboard.xml is "dvd". True, the MCE remote is the default supported, with other remotes could be more difficult.
