How to install a .deb package on LibreELEC?

  • I have several RPi4's running LE v12.2.1.

My power is not good and I have power blips anytime the wind decides to pick up a little bit, so I added a small UPS to each of my systems. I just had a power blip and tested these UPS's. One of them did not preform as expected, so I downloaded the manufacture software, plugged it into my PC to check the status. Of course it says all is good and testing went perfect, so I thought I'd see if I could put the Linux monitoring software on the PI so I could watch logs. However, dpkg is not a command on the LibreELEC. I looked through all of the add on packages and I don't see anything that works. Is it possible to add a .deb package?

    Thanks

  • No, you can't install deb (or rpm, ...) packages on LibreELEC.

But you could run a docker container with a minimal Debian version (eg trixie-slim) and install the deb in there (eg in a Dockerfile)

    so long,

I'll give that a try. Thanks for the info.
