[x86-64] LibreELEC 12.2.1 crashes a minute after idle

  • I have 4 libreELEC devices, 2 raspberry pi's and 2 Trycoo WI-6 x86 PC's. These have worked flawlessly, however this week I moved them from the 12.0 update family to the 12.2 family, and did an upgrade to 12.2.1 on all 4 devices, and now the x86 pc's completely lock up and have to be physically rebooted about a minute after idling. The logs show a failure as I messed around with the netflix addon (which I never authenticated to, and is essentially idle) but otherwise this and the crash log show nothing.

I'm stumped. I'm willing to consider anything; hardware settings, etc, but at this point these went from "working" -> upgrade -> "not working" and if I need to make an img file with the older installer, I can, but I'd prefer moving forwards than backwards.

    Any help is appreciated!

I took a backup, did a fresh install with the latest .img, restored the backup, and it's happening again. I'm gonna go through plugin disablement; the main plugin we need is jellycon so I'm hoping that's it.

  • Perhaps update one of the boxes to an LE13 nightly and see if that's more stable? (from a Kodi/functional perspective nightlies are quite stable to use, despite the theoretical alpha state).

  • I took a backup, did a fresh install with the latest .img, restored the backup, and it's happening again.

Hi, probably in your old setup it's something that not compatible with the new version. I would try to make a fresh install, add the addons and settings, and from backup to use only the other stuffs, like media files.

  • I'm gonna do both things; I'm gonna run a vanilla install, then attempt to get jellycon working, then get the eminence theme set up, which are the 2 most critical things. I spent a ton of time getting these setup (especially the eminence theme), and being able to back up and restore was a huge component of that; if I have to re-do all settings each time I upgrade it's going to be a massive issue for family acceptance.

If the vanilla install does crash, I'll attempt the nightly.

  • I spoke prematurely, it appears to be happening with either of the jellyfin add-ons. That's the whole point of my use of kodi, so I will proceed with the nightly.

The jellyfin repo fails to install on the nightly, I'm going to revert back to 12.0.
