Hello.
Please advise if LibreELEC on regular ATX motherboard based "regular PC" with i7 12700 CPU and Nvidia GeForce GPU (GTX 1650) can reliably do end to end true Dolby Vision and high-resolution audio Passthrough when media files are played through PKC direct play.
I am after solving the problem of end to end true Dolby Vision passthrough using an external media player device. It's proving to be a Holy Grail. After extensive research, I have learnt that perhaps only CoreELEC and LibreELEC can do that reliably. Some other devices come close but not quite. For example, they cannot process FEL 7. Or, they fake the Dolby Vision badge, and that's it. Or, they cannot do passthrough of high-resolution lossless audio. Etc. Etc.
I have also read that CoreELEC on an Amlogic S922X-J CPU device (for example: Ugoos AM6B Plus) is the gold standard to achieve end to end true Dolby Vision passthrough. But that costs a lots of pretty pennies. I have a PC with an i7-12700K CPU and Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU that I would like to use with LibreELEC if I can achieve end to end true Dolby Vision passthrough--including FEL 7 with this setup. All my media library is in Plex. I will use PlexKodiConnect (PKC), and set it up to do "direct play".
If LibreELEC can do it, but only with an Intel NUC, please advise. I will then not pursue the "regular PC" route.
Thanks!
