HP Elitedesk Ryzen 2400GE Blackscreen

  • My System Specs

    HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Mini

    Ryzen 5 Pro 2400GE,

    16GB RAM

    Tried to install

    LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-12.0.1.img.gz

    • created a bootable Stick with the latest USB-SD Creator (tried etcher as well)
    • Boot to Stick
    • Select install

What happens is, nothing Screen stays black. The same happens when trying to use run and live options.

    Thereafter, I tried

    LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0.4.img.gz

Install works, Kodi works as expected.

Then, after reading through Redit, I updated LibreElec by the internal Update to 12.x, rebooted, Screen Stays black.

Is there any chance to get ^LibreElec 12 running on my machine or, do I need to install Debian, Fedora or smth to use Kodi?

  • Code
    echo "sleep 10" > /storage/.config/autostart.sh

See if that ^ works around the issue? .. it will delay Kodi startup for 10 seconds, which should allow kernel drivers to finish loading in the background.

    Nope,

    Same as before,just a Blackscreen

Tried with sleep 10 and sleep 30 aswell

  • What if you power cycle again?

Same, I tried turing it of and on multiple times.

On 1 of about 30 tries it works, the other 29 times the screen stays black ..

Tested Windows yesterday just to be shure the EliteDesk is ok. No issues there.

Tried different DP cables as well.

  • 1. With updating to LE12 nightly you do get kernel 6.6.63, maybe something is fixed:

    Code
    wget -P /storage/ https://test.libreelec.tv/12.0/Generic/Generic/LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-12.0-nightly-20241204-f894320.img.gz

    2. On one of the successful boots:
    a. Create a log for our curiosity
    b. Use getedid create to save the found configuration for further boots.

  • I assume you use a DP-to-HDMI adapter, because your Mini PC only has two DisplayPort outputs. Try a different adapter, or a monitor with DisplayPort input. DP-to-HDMI is known to be a trouble maker.

Already tried 2 different DP Cables without an Adapter. Same Issue.
