[x86-64, LE 12.0.1] No Sound on HDMI

  • Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my Asus Atom AT3ION T-I and maybe someone here can help me.

    Problem
After switching from Ubuntu 20.04 to LibreELEC, there is no sound on the HDMI output.
I have already followed the following advice

Bluetooth is also preset as the default Pulse output device for me.
If I switch from Bluetooth to HDMI, there is still no sound output.

  • Hi Da Flex, thank you.

You're right, I have installed it.
I just realised that I hadn't mentioned it. Sorry about that.
I had originally installed version 12.0 and have now also updated to 12.01 from the LE menu.

  • Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link
  • Hello, it looks like a driver problem to me. It clearly states that the module for HDMI cannot be loaded.

It is not clear to me what I can do here. The logical thing for me would be to install the driver. But because of the NVidea driver and because LibreELEC is a completely new environment for me, I have no idea what to do.

Can anyone here tell me what to do or where I can read about it?

Maybe it doesn't make sense and I invest the time in another distribution with Nvidea support - if it still exists - and install Kodi there.;)

Thank you in advance for good answers.:)

  • Thank you heitbaum,

if I understand this correctly, I should switch to LibreELEC 10. But that brings me to a new question, can I then update Kodi separately to version 21.01 or do I have to install LibreELEC 12 again.
Which will then lead to the sound problem again.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hello everyone, I have now solved the problem by installing 10.4.
But I would still like to know if I can install Kodi 21 on it and how this can be done?
