Nightly video playback broken on RPi

  • Hi

I upgraded to the latest nightly (December,16) from an older nightly (December,9)

The old build didn't have any issues.

What's happening is this. When try to play a video the sound comes out. But the image never comes on.

    After a while Kodi crashes.

I tried to capture this behavior in the logs.

    Hope it helps

    Please, let me know otherwise.

  • Neither log is a debug log so there's not much to investigate. The only errors that stand out are from things like Tvheadend server not reachable (which will be unrelated).

  • I was afraid something like that could happen. That Kodi weren't able to register what went wrong in the logs.

In the meantime, I downgraded to the nightly from December, 9. All the videos were playing just fine.

Then I put back the latest nightly available (December,16), and no matter which chose my local library I got only sound. The video never showed up. And after a couple of seconds, Kodi becomes unresponsive.

I'm gonna manually delete all logs. And try to upload some new logs.

I assure you guys. The issue is real. Something added after December, 9 is causing this issue.

    I made a short video:

Here are the logs available after the crash.

I accessed those logs over SSH:

  • Thanks HiassofT.

I'll keep an eye on this #8437 request on the next daily builds.

Until then I'll revert to the last working build from December, 9.

I'll let you guys know if something else occurs.
