No HDMI audio on Asus HTPC

  • I'm facing an issue with my LibreELEC setup after updating to version 12. I have no sound via HDMI passthrough, and it seems like my receiver isn't receiving an HDMI signal anymore. This problem didn't exist on Kodi Leia, and I'm hoping someone can help me troubleshoot and resolve it.

Here are some details about my setup:

    LibreELEC Version: 12.0 (nightly-20230928)

    Kodi Version: 21

Hardware: HTPC with Asus AT3IONT-I Deluxe motherboard

    Receiver: Onkyo 3400 HT-R390

    Projector: Panasonic PT-AX200U

Before the update, I had everything working perfectly, with audio passing through my receiver via HDMI. However, after the LibreELEC 12 update, I can no longer hear any sound. I've double-checked all the settings in Kodi, and HDMI passthrough is enabled. My receiver is set to the correct input source.

I've already tried the following troubleshooting steps with no success:

    * Rebooted both the Raspberry Pi and the receiver.

    * Checked and reseated all HDMI cables to ensure they are connected properly.

    * Tested different HDMI ports on my receiver.

    Here's my logfile: http://ix.io/4HJm

Please let me know if you need any additional information about my setup.

  • Thanks for the reply, but I'm already running the Legacy version (although it doesn't show in the log). I just updated to the latest nightly, here's the log: http://ix.io/4HZI

One more thing: since I upgraded, I get this message during boot: "1.1784097 fail to initialize ptp_kvm". Maybe it's related to my problem?

  • I think we reached the point where the current legacy driver needs to be bumped from 340.xx to something newer due to compat issues; but this will inevitably drop support for older nVidia devices. Or we drop nVidia support completely.. because stats show that most of active nVidia installs are using the legacy driver (the non-legacy driver has few users).
