nevermind, i decided to folow the above post and it works on the latest downloaded from the imagier. I feel so dumb. i just need to make audio work but i have seen an enable analog audio setting somewhere.

RE: Rpi4 Libreelec 10.0.1 no sound through Pi's audio jack or Bluetooth

To enable the audio jack on RPi 4B in LibreELEC 10.x you need to:

- edit the /flash/config.txt file ( see https://wiki.libreelec.tv/configuration/config_txt ), use Putty terminal to connect LibreELEC SSH console ( https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/how-to-use-putty-ssh ).

- add this line to config.txt: dtparam=audio=on

- reboot LibreELEC

- in Kodi GUI set the Audio output device in Settings - System - Audio menu to ALSA:bcm2835 Headphones, bcm2835 Headphones

You should see the connected BlueTooth…

I added or rather uncommented the:

dtparam=audio=on

in config.txt, rebooted, no audio yet or rather ony bluetooth is present in the audio output devices list, after disconnecting hdmi.

Do you have one of those cheap USB sound devices you could connect up to test.

Yes, i do have such a device. I turned the Pi with it already pluged in and had to change the audio device and i have UI and most importantly media sound.

I’ve found sound to be notoriously troublesome on the RPI in the past. Never had issues with USB DAC devices. The Jack Audio is an afterthought and HDMI can be really hit and miss.

Maybe the analogue audio volume is just zero.

Check the lower content of /storage/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml. The audio part should look like this:

That's correct for analogue audio. Check whether the connector is completely plugged in. If possible, try another cable.

The usb DAC just works, the built-in line-out worked on LE 9.2.8 and on retroPie, I did not touch the connector between "distro hopping".
I am happy with the current situation, I have sound, picture and retro anime through jellyfin. It may look a little janky but I like janky tech.

Perfect! For modern setups we usually suggest to use an external sound card, because internal analogue audio is so bad.

Now you have redneck video and HiFi audio.

That DAC is far from HIFI, with my in ear monitors I can clearly hear the static telling me to commit tax fraud. But pluging in a FiiO DAC should be easy, If I had one.

I've tested a Behringer UMC22 on my RPi, and it works fine. The output is studio quality, if connected to active studio monitors.
