RPI 4 or Odroid

  • Hi All,

I'm looking for an alternative to my Beelink GT1 ultimate and from the different threads it all boils down to either RPI4 or Odroid.

I cannot really figure what are the major differences between the two in terms of features and performance in Libreelec. Can both of them run 4K HDR contents?

The RPI seems very compact and with the built in wifi, it would perfectly suits my needs. I'm just worried in terms of performance and expected life time for the future releases.

    Any advices?

    Thanks! :)

  • For LibreELEC the RPi4 is your best option of the two. To get the full benefits from the Pi you need to run nightly's at the moment, but I think there was a comment previously that these improvements would be backported to the next 10.0.X release.

  • RPi4 release images are fine, next update will probably backport a few more things from nightlies if we think they are stable. I wouldn't rely on the wireless chip though, it's better than RPi3 was but still not great. If you want something reliable use Ethernet.
