Why upgrade?

    I'm running 8.2.5 on a standard PC. Remote, hdmi, etc. I've upgraded in the past but always had issues with network tools (lftp dog slow). So always downgraded.

    I get that new versions support new hardware, etc. But does it benefit me in anyway?

    Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. I always like latest and greatest. Just wondering if I'm not running latest hardware if worth upgrading.

    If you're not experiencing any problems and 8.2.5 is doing what you want it to do, then why even consider updating ? Then again, if you want to take a test drive, I would recommend installing a different hard drive if you have a spare. If it doesn't work out, just swap back.

    It depends on what you use Kodi for. The main driver for upgrades is often the add-on ecosystem; at some point add-on devs stop supporting Javis with updates and then you're forced to bump. If you're not motivated by add-ons the old saying "if it works, don't fix it" always applies :)
