LE 10.0b1: Crash after profile change

I'm on a fresh installation of LE 10.0b1 generic x64 installation on an original Zoatc CI323 nano computer.

Beside the Master User profile I have created two other user profiles for my family members.

Now the problem is, whenever I login into a profile, then logout and login to another profile, LE crashes (black screen) and after a few seconds it shows me the "rainy code" Kodi Matrix logo and puts me back to the login screen.

After that I can login to that specific profile without crashing.

This happens everytime I want to switch from one profile to another.

I have tested this on LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0-nightly-20210318-c5d7822.ova on VMware Workstation Player 16.1.0 build-17198959 and the behaviour is almost the same. Except the fact that it crashes only once after every LibreELEC reboot.

I have chosen the LibreELEC's bootloader start option run.

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that I have enabled the "Show login screen on startup" setting on Profiles --> General.

Just wanted to mention this to make my informations complete.

Did another test with the official Kodi 19 Matrix release on a fresh Windows 10 x86_64 installation and on a fresh Ubuntu 20.04 x86_64 installation.

In both cases the issue is not occurring.

Seems like it's a LibreELEC only issue?

Just curious because nobody's got a reaction over here: Was this the wrong place to post this issue or did I miss to post some more relevant information? Or was this issue already posted somewhere else? Or am I just not patient enough?

I have the same problem both on an old'ish Intel NUC and a new RPI4 - cannot switch profiles - it just crashes. Crashlog from RPI4 here: http://ix.io/2Uo1

I have Kodi 19 running on a couple of windows boxes and profile switching works fine there.

Updated today from LE 10b2 to LE 10b3, x86 generic.

Still crashing.

Same here: Still crashes on profile switch x86 generic, LE10b3. However, it has changed a bit from LE10b1 as I now can see the main menu of the profile I switch to for a second or two before it restarts.

Not sure if for this issue was to expect anything changing since LE10b3 but it is still crashing with LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.95.4.img.gz.

Until you read something about profile crashing being fixed, you can assume it is not fixed and you can stop posting "it's not fixed" comments to this thread. We know it is not resolved and the comments are not motivational.

Is it possible to use OS level user accounts in LibreELEC (and therefore separate profiles) instead of having the profiles managed within Kodi? That way the OS handles it and keeps all the settings/libraries separate in different HOME directories.

It would remove some of the flexibility in Media Info and Media Sources. Basically forcing a full library/settings per user. But at least the program install would not be duplicated potentially. Not sure how MySQL shared libraries would be affected.

I realize that is a huge undertaking, but I mention it in case it hasn't already been considered as a long term solution. If it is even possible.

My apologies if this has already been considered.
