DVB drivers for nightly build

  • I am currently on a Kodi 19 Milhouse build from 27 May (most recent version I have found with working DVB TBS drivers) and would like to switch to the Kodi 19 beta as add-ons are now updating to xbmcvfs and becoming incompatible with the older version. Does the LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.80-nightly-20201226-4e458a0.img.gz nightly build contain the DVB drivers as the driver for my TBS card is not loading on start up? Or do I need to compile separately? Thanks

  • crazycat and dvb-latest don't work with current linux kernel.

    You can try to build an image with a kernel from TBS git. Or make a patch with a standalone driver for your particular TBS card.

    I made this patch for my TBS 5520SE. Works with kernels 5.10, 5.11-rc.

  • The process is to find the relevant commits in tbs git and figure out what files need to be added and patched.

    I used "git diff" command to generate the patch files, e.g. "git diff oldfile newfile > patchfile". Then I joined all the patches into 1 file.

    The patch needs to be copied to projects/Generic/patches/linux or packages/linux/patches/default

    Can you provide detailed instructions for me to use my tbs5520se?

    In the chewitt buildings.

    LibreELEC-AMLGX.arm-9.80.8-box.img.gz

    It is useless knowledge if not shared the world.

  • Perfect the image I already have!

    Thanks smp

    Code
    git clone https://github.com/chewitt/LibreELEC.tv.git
    cd LibreELEC.tv
    git checkout amlogic
    PROJECT=Amlogic DEVICE=AMLGX ARCH=arm UBOOT_SYSTEM=box make image

    I just need to add the patches made available by you!

    in projects / amlogic / patches / packages.

    And finally build and build the image?

    Code
    PROJECT=Amlogic DEVICE=AMLGX ARCH=arm UBOOT_SYSTEM=box make image

  • Copy it to projects/Amlogic/patches/linux

  • put if patches manually, correct?

    CONFIG_DVB_USB_TECHNISAT_USB2=m

    CONFIG_DVB_USB_TBS5520SE=m

    CONFIG_DVB_USB_V2=m
