Samsung Remote for rpi 4 media center with libreelec 9.2

  • Hi,

    i used OSMC before, but i bought a rpi 4, which is not yet supported by osmc.

    So i installed libreelec again, setup is ok, tvheadend running.

    I am struggling to setup a Samsung smart TV Remote.

    Is there a step by step guide for dummies ?!

  • in OSMC you can navigate to config, select a predefined remote and it works, that was the reason why i moved all my rpi media centers from libreelec to osmc.

  • this cant be that hard, dozens of people have ir remotes running.

    when i am connected via,putty the command to test if ir signals are received would help a lot.

  • Not sure if this will help or not but Infrared Remotes [LibreELEC.wiki] it has some information about troubleshooting etc... I'm new to this hardware but was looking at remotes today and read this so I hope this helps, if not good luck and I'll be watching this thread so if you find a solution by all means post it up so I can read up on it.

  • You seem to have put a lircd.conf file into /storage/.config so lirc is used - make sure the file matches the remote you are using.


    You can also try running ir-keytable -p all -t, if that outputs lirc scancodes when you press buttons it means the IR protocol is supported by the kernel (the output will show you which protocol that is) and you can drop the lircd.conf file and use ir-keytable / rc_maps.cfg configuration instead (which is a lot less error-prone than using irrecord to create a lircd.conf file).
