File Manager - can't see addon server directory files

  • Hi, new to this stuff and trying to set up Kodi on Raspberry Pi3.

I'm also pretty illiterate when it comes to Linux and IP stuff.

Setup went smooth and LibreELEC installed correctly but when I use File Manager to get Netflix or Amazon addons it seems to connect properly to the folders but I see no ZIP files.

I can see them if I go to the same address on a separate PC.

The Internet connection shows as "connected".

Is there some kind of sharing setting that I'm missing?

  • Do you have the shared data on an external drive? If yes, then probably your file manager will not follow symlinks. LE creates symlinks for each external drive to generate Linux mount points.

  • The repository files I'm looking for are on external links recommended by Kodi users.

For example, the Netflix addon is at repository.netflix-1.0.1.zip

When I try to add this directory to the Kodi addons list it accepts it but when I try to connect the File Manager only shows my root but no files in the repository directory, even though it appears to have connected - and I can see them if I enter the link in my PC web browser.

  • If You connect to Your "LE Download folder" from Windows Explorer that should work without any hassle if You have the SMB sharing enabled.

( Sharing additional folders from LibreELEC via SMB [LibreELEC.wiki] )

Copy Your .zip's to "\\<IP adress>\Downloads" and paste .zip-files there (don't extract them!).

(no need to 'mount it, just connect using the address field)

You should now be able to find these files from Your LE file manager.
