Radio Remote Control not working with 9.1.501

  • I've got following Remote Control:

    Android TV Box Wireless Remote Control Clavier Air Mouse 2.4ghz pour KODI PC KS | eBay

    It works perfect with 8.2.5, but when I use a clean install with 9.02 or 9.1.501 on my PI3 the coursor buttons do not work and the menu flickers after a coursor button is pressed. When I look into kodi.log it looks like events are repeated for 10s although the key was only presssed once on the remote:

    In the attached file udevadm_monitor.txt please find the events I get with udevadm monitor -p when I unplug and plug the receiver.

    I tried to exclude it from udev:

    /etc/udev/rules.d/51-these-are-not-joysticks-rm.rules

    SUBSYSTEM=="input", ATTRS{idVendor}=="2319", ATTRS{idProduct}=="00B2", ENV{ID_INPUT_JOYSTICK}=="?*", ENV{ID_INPUT_JOYSTICK}=""

    SUBSYSTEM=="input", ATTRS{idVendor}=="2319", ATTRS{idProduct}=="00B2", KERNEL=="js[0-9]*", RUN+="/bin/rm %E{DEVNAME}", ENV{ID_INPUT_JOYSTICK}="

    But that makes no difference.

    Does anyone know how to get it working?

    Thx,

    Myx

  • As I'm a newby I'm wondering that no one answers. Could you please help if I made anything wrong in my post? I searched the forum, but didn't find anything there. I check the unanswered posts, but didn't find a post where I can help.

    Thanks for any help,

    Myx

  • Thanks for your response Hias. Next time I'll send the logs to pastebin as described in your link. Hope that's better to handle.

    Disabling mouse and touchscreen support helped to get rid of the flickering and made the cursor work again. But I didn't manage to get the back button working. There is no event in the kodi.log. So I'd like to replace the remote.

    Is there a RF remote you can recommend for Libreelec 9?

    I checked https://kodi.wiki/view/rf_remote_controls. If I look at Rii MX3 it's the same as the one I already have. I thought about using flirc plus my existing Harmony 525 as my experiences with lirc were not the best.

    Thx,

    Myx

  • Sorry, can't really comment on RF remotes, maybe someone else has a recommendation.

    If you have an IR receiver on your RPi configure your Harmony to the Microsoft Media Center profile - this will work out of the box with LibreELEC.

    CEC may be another option.

    I'm mainly using an IR remote on my RPi, sometimes just CEC for basic navigation and if I need to enter lots of text I have a Logitech K400.

    so long,

    Hias

  • Hi Hias,

    thanks for your help. In the meantime I tested a Raspi4 with IR Remote, but the Raspi4 lacks on a MPG2 hardware decoder. As I'm using SATIP mainly that's important for me. Additionally I tested OSMC on my Raspi3 and the chinese RF remote works perfect there. So I will switch to OSMC and stay on my Raspi3.

    Cheers,

    Franz
