Server Monitoring Software

Hi LibreELEC Forum,

I'm using LE for my media center solution, but also have quite some services running in the background.

Can you recommend a (free) monitoring solution with good logging abilities for network (traffic/access), filesystem etc?

I can't seem to find a decent solution (that I would be able to install)

Yes, there are many. However as you didn't think it was worth while mentioning what H/W nor release of LE you are running - I'll just give everything I know about.

Many standard linux utilities are available in standard LE, with more available in LE system-tools and network-tools addons.

iftop, bwm-ng available in LE network-tools addon

nmon, htop available in LE system-tools addon.

I settled for a mix of netdata and nmon at the moment, and am *quite* satisfied.

Am still getting familiar with the creation of netdata dashboards. It's quite comprehensive.

You could also try rpi-monitor.

docker pull michaelmiklis/rpi-monitor

Then run:

How much overhead does this docker instance create? eg if you're at 95% and want to monitor, this could push it over?

The docker will consume a bit more CPU. If you're at 95% then you will need to use more hands on direct system monitoring like nmon, htop, mpstat, iostat etc to determine what is using the CPU.
