The blank screen is the point when Kodi switch to a correct video mode.
Use mkvtoolnix.

Thanks for the hint. I didn‘t know mkvtoolnix.
Strange is that the movie plays nicely with the proper video mode before the blank screen and after.
I'm trying to get this to work on my setup.
PC is a Celeron J4105, TV is a Sony KD55XF7000.
The TV does not seem to detect an HDR signal, atleast it won't switch to it automatically. When i manually select the HDR profile on my TV, the picture is quite dark, and colors seem off in general, making me feel like the HDR isn't working.
Switching between the PRIME render options does not seem to change anything.

What motherboard? Is HDMI connected directly to the TV?

Motherboard is a Asrock J1405-ITX (here), but it is connected through my amplifier, an Onkyo TX-575e, which should support HDR according to the manual.
Motherboard Asrock J4205-ITX ---- Denon AVR X6200W ---- Sony KD-65XF9005 HDR work fine.
Theelichtje I don't know if this is applicable to your Onkyo model... hdmi_4k_onk.pdf

Alright, thanks! Both boards have an HDMI 2.0 port, so that shouldn't be the issue. The 4205 has more USB ports and a Pentium J4205, but actually has an HD505, whereas mine has a 600, so actually a newer generation etc, so this shouldnt be the issue.

Thanks for this! Although it's already set to enhanced unfortunately.
I'll connect the PC directly to the TV tomorrow, and see if the TV picks the HDR signal up then.
Hi guys,
i downloaded LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0-devel-20210524004323-f9d2c33.img.gz?dl=1 by SMP from Intel true 10bits/HEVC/HDR support... ? but it would not boot on my bxnuc8i5inhja4 (has radeon 540X).
Can you provide another build with HDR support I can try.
Thank you.
oops sorry i missed that. no radeon yet.
I'll go try another nuc with intel integrated graphics.
Thanks

HDR on AMD does work, I just don't think smp builds with amd graphics enabled.

I removed Radeonsi mesa driver from my builds because HDR does not work on my Athlon GE200 (Vega 3) box and a clean build of LE compiles significantly faster without LLVM/radeonsi.
A build with enabled AMD graphics - LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0-devel-20210601032257-86a07cd.img.gz
@libreAU you can try it but as I said HDR does not work on my Vega 3 AMD box.
Wow, hey thanks mate, appreciate it
Well it booted... but unfortunately there was just a black screen when trying to play HDR content. Any content for that matter, i tried various files. Black screen, audio was fine.
errors like : ERROR <general>: CBaseRenderer::GetShaderFormat - unsupported format 181
whatever that means
Anywhos I attached the logs in case you are curious of what happened (both standard and debug). It's a tarball but I had to rename it with a zip extension due to adding attachment constraints of the forum.
( mv kodi-64-10.0-devel-20210601032257-86a07cd-LOGS.tgz.zip kodi-64-10.0-devel-20210601032257-86a07cd-LOGS.tgz )
ill try the intel build (LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0-devel-20210524004323-f9d2c33.img.gz) when the boss stops using the tv with the nuc with intel graphics.
Happy to report back with outcome and logs if that helps you in some way/you're curious. Just let me know.
thanks again for providing that build for me.
Update:
20210524004323-f9d2c33 build works on intel nuc 7pjyh (Intel® NUC Kit NUC7PJYH Product Specifications) on sony x8000h tv.
Cheers,

Switch PRIME Render Method to EGL.
I tried the release "LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-10.0-devel-20210601032257-86a07cd.img.gz" on my NUC7i5BNK but whatever type of video I try to play it instantly crashes Kodi when hitting "play".
Before that release I was running LibreElec 9 with no problems.
You should try a clean install rather than updating over LE 9.
