Wifi connected but no internet

  • Hi there,

I am new to Libreelec and installed it via Noobs on an RPi3. It states to be connected to wifi and I am able to exchange files with my pc.

However no internet access is possible whatsoever. All other devices in the wifi are able to (even the RPi3 when booting Raspbian), but Kodi isn't. Even the preinstalled addons don't work. I left all other settings on default.

    Any ideas?

  • Usually this is due to incorrect router configuration or wifi settings.

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link

    Also the output of:

    ifconfig

    and

    cd /storage/.cache/connman/

Find the latest directory. Something like wifi_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    cd to that directory

    Post the output of

    more settings

  • Wifi is set to channel 1.

Concerning the directory called "like wifi_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" - I wasn't able to find the folder /storage/.cache/connman/ - how do I access the command console / terminal in Libreelec?

    output of ifconfig -a

  • Official LE is not really an option, since I wand to use addons like Amazon Video and Netflix, and Milhouse builds seem to be the only way to do this (or are they?)...

My router is set to use static IP for this device. Is this what you mean?

  • I just "downgraded" to the latest official version 8.2.5. - same error as before. Here's the new log:

  • Wifi should be set to 2.4 GHz.

On the network tab in LE settings it says "Wireless Networks: Active=yes, 'tethered'=no" and "Wired NEtworks: Active=yes" (don't know how to take a screenshot).

  • Network is already set to dhcp and connects ("State: ready"). Also I am able to find the device in the network and use SSH as well as exchange files.

I only own the one RPi3. I have not tried OSMC, but other OS like Raspbian and Recalbox work just fine, so I presume it is an LE issue (or a setting issue, however I did not change any of the default values at the beginning).

  • If LE is set to DHCP and you can connect to other local IP addresses then it has to be a router issue.

What is your gateway/router IP address?

If you have a DHCP reservation in the router try removing it.

    Also output of:

  • Deacticating/activating DHCP makes no difference.
