i have a tronsmort mxiii plus 1gb box on kodi 18. It gives me the wrong IP address under wired, it reads 169.254.112.XXX. If I set it manually it changes but fails to connect to internet, any ideas ?

You've been here before, so you should know the procedure. No log file, no problem.
Not too sure what image you are using but LE has NOT released an official test image for LE9 (Kodi 18 Leia) for AML. ARE you sure it's not CE?

I think this is a router problem, someone recently had the same problem, but I can't find it. It's something to do with your router not allocating a DHCP address, you need to google for the answer.
Or, disconnect everything from your router,LAN's reboot the router,
then look at the network connections in the Libre/CoreELEC configuration addon. Turn off VPN?

Check the lan cable. change ports on the router. Boot into android and check if it works there.
