Geniatech Mygica HDStar DVB-S2 USB HD not working

  • first of all THANKS

The sitonizer I bought it again last month

I attached the photos of the plate and the photos of the chip.

Same to me. I bought this sintonizer last month and it has the same chip (B revision). Of course, the same issue ... Tvheadend does not detect this sintonizer. Waiting for any news about a possible fix.

I can provide information (logs, etc) in orden to analyze the issue.

    Thanks

  • Same problem here.

It doesn't even work on Ubuntu Server 16.04 either.

I know that it isn't related to LE but... CvH do you know if there's any solution for Ubuntu?

  • somebody sent notify to Technotrend/Tevii/DVBSky/Geniatech :) just sent me latest Montage driver sources and some sample hw :) no more :)

I've just sent a message to MYGICA (Geniatech) official store in Aliexpress. I'll notify you if they answer.

  • Well I tried to compile it on my Ubuntu Server 16.04 but I couldn't. I'm totally lost with the procedure.

I understand that is a problem with the kernel version supported:

    Because:

    Code
    1. [[email protected]]:(1.5Mb)~/utils/media_build$ uname -r
    2. 4.4.0-128-generic

    Anyone can help me?

  • Ok, just needed to add my kernel version at /linux/.version. Then it installed succesfully, but now neither my HDStar nor my RTL2838 DVB-T (which used to work before) work right now.

    ;(

  • I scrolled through the changes and I have no idea what they did here.

that is the patch (manually reverted the applied media_build patches) - looks too scary and messy but maybe it works, Iam doing an build
