It's been so long since i set this up that i can't remember what i did to set these mount options (See last few mounted HDDs) but for some reason my Movies drive (/dev/sdc1) was setup as RO instead of RW.
Where do i change this? There seems to be nothing in my /etc/fstab file
smb.conf has the directory listed as writable. But i have a feeling i set these mount options somewhere else
First check disk/partitions for errors.
I already can tell you there are errors.
And because of that it is mounted RO. Probably.
As long as the filesystems are clean mounting is handled automatically. You probably 'configured' the drive labels in the past (not mount options) to ensure each drive mounted with a distinct name.
Yup. If filesystems aren't clean Linux defaults to mounting RO to prevent damage. Depending on what the underlying issue is you might be able to fsck and fix issues, but that's a risk and i'd always advise waiting until the replacement drive arrives and you can transfer data over before you attempt repairs.
