Thank you!!
Yes, but only if "adjust refresh rate" is on. With the software decoder there's no freeze no matter the "adjust refresh rate" setting.
if you want the best possible experience, "adjust refresh rate" must be on.
It will limit the "judder".
I have an older LibreElec installed on internal.
Can I put the latests tar-file in the folder 'update' in order to install it to internal or do I have to use the script?
i would first test the Gz on a SD card.
if you're using my 17.6 build, the boot script isn't the same anymore.
so you 've to repatch the minix to be able to install to internal.
btw:
the performance gain with "installtointernal" is negligible. my pov
Hey guys, I just tried to do the installation but it doesn't boot to libreelec. If I hold the recovery button than the android minix logo flashes, when I stop holding it just stays on the android minix logo. Any ideas?
edit: I should mention that I am using minix-x8 (not h or s or plus). I don't know anything about this stuff but it looks like I only have a dtb for the x8-h version in the SD?
can you try this dtb : http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file
boot the beast and let me know
can you try this dtb : http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file
- delete the dtb.img on the SD card
- copy the one from above
- rename it to dtb.img
boot the beast and let me know
Will do! I'll try to do it in a few hours

hey, sorry for double posting (if that's a thing here) and also for only trying the solution now.
1) changing the dtb file to dtb.img doesn't change the file extension to .img - Is that ok?
2) solution doesn't work - device still blinks the android - minix logo and doesn't boot to LE
I'm gonna try booting without changing the new DTB name and report back
EDIT: Still didn't boot lol
1) changing the dtb file to dtb.img doesn't change the file extension to .img - Is that ok?
NO.
NO.
So what can I do so it will change?
If you are not able to rename "somefile.xxx" to "dtb.img" ask someone who knows how to do it to rename it for you...
So what can I do so it will change?
Use terminal (i.e. command line).
So what can I do so it will change?
=> file explorer => view : be sure that "file name extensions" is selected
=> file explorer => view : be sure that "file name extensions" is selected
can't believe I didn't know that lol
Anyway, tried it now and instead of continuing to show the android logo the box flicker the logo and than shutdowns (no blue led in front)
trying to boot it without holding the recovery button also does the same thing.
Should I try to boot it with the original dtb now that I know how to change the file extension?
Also thanks a lot for the help!
be sure to try once with http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file
boot the minix (no need to hold the recovery, it's a one time "patch" process).
if it's not correctly patched, you will boot direct to android.
if it's correctly patched and the dtb is the right one, you will boot to LibreELEC
if it's correctly patched and the dtb isn't the right one, you will stay on the android logo
be sure to try once with http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file
- delete "orginal" dtb.img on the SD card
- copy http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file to the SD card
- rename http://www.mediafire.com/file/29ilwgtalve7l1d/meson8_k200b_2g_emmc_sdio.dtb/file to dtb.img

Why did you explain everything again? I understood the instructions first time I read them
I tried again, still shutdowns after android logo
just to be sure it was crystal clear.
anyway, the sdio dtb isn't the good one.
can you burn this one on a SD :http://www.mediafire.com/file/dtr2kr1r5ycbtth/libreelec-x8-h_series.arm-8.2rc-kodi_17.6-final.img.gz/file
it's a old img which contains more dtb files. No need to hold the reset switch.

Soooo it just flashes the boot logo (android minix) and doesn't really do much besides that
Maybe my device is just bricked?
Edit: before I say anything misleading - it boots into android no problem when the sd card is not inserted
the android - minix boot logo became somewhat purple, but otherwise everything works OK
