Have you already looked at the downloads page?
We have an installer for each of the 3 major OS'es.

Just downloaded the LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Linux-64bit.bin.
Download of image file in progress.
Will write back soon.
You can run that .bin file from a Terminal session, by typing: sudo ./LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Linux-64bit.bin
Also have a look at Installation of LibreELEC [LibreELEC.wiki]
After burning the file to SD card when I booted the Pi it showed the multicolor screen and remained like that forever.
Any ideas ?
Either you used the RPi image (which is for RPi 0/1 devices) not the RPi2 image (for RPi 2/3 devices) or you have the RPi2 image but your RPi2+ is actually an RPi (1) device. The rainbow screen shows when you have the wrong image.
I have installed Raspbian using the Noobs installer and installed Kodi on top and configured kodi to auto start.
Problem solved. Thanks for replying.
