Not that many of them offer a clean installation.
Supported devices at the moment for LibreELEC can be established via the download page. They contain ready-to-go images. Installation on a Intel x86-64 machine will require two steps. Unfortunately we do no know how the htpc world will look like in 2-3 years.
However, some configuration or setting up LibreELEC/Kodi is still required. Different people, different needs.

Have you tried to install Libreelec to a microsd card & boot the Minix from the sd card?

Why do we call it shitty firmware when it's official firmware by the vendor?
It contains hacks and drivers which they refuse to provide sources for in breach of the GPL license. In our world that's shitty.
