Hi guys and gals. You guys are my only hope to solve this hoping someone has had a similar experience. I built my intel nuc about 3 years ago and installed open elec fine onto it.Then got board and installed windows 10 onto it not knowing how rubbish and unstable it would be. The other day I read about libreelec and thought this sounds great I'm going to install this. So I did a Dban wipe of my nuc and thought time to install looks really easy with there software. Burnt the image to my usb fine but when I place it in the nuc and boot from the usb after a short while the screen goes of like ive turned the nuc off, even though its still on and my screensavers on my tv come on.I really need help from you guys to sort this as its what we watch all our movies as a family. Someone please be kind enough to help.

You could try to re-install OpenELEC, which seemed to work, and then upgrade to LibreELEC.
-
Ok will try that when I get home.

Right guys tonight’s update is as follows. As suggested by Klojum I attempted to install OpenELEC first which has finally worked.I did try LibreELEC again it didn’t boot from usb.As I’m writing this and installing Openelec though I seem to have come across some error.
FAILED to start a org server.
See ‘systemctl stays corgi.service’ for details.
DEPEND Dependancy failed for fluxbox window manager.

Have you updated the BIOS? Current release is 0062.
Find it here:
Also check this installation guide:
How-to: Installing LibreELEC/Kodi on an Intel NUC – The NUC Blog
Be Sure to "Load Defaults" in the BIOS and have "UEFI" checked.

Once you have installed openelec you don't need to boot from usb to upgrade to libreelec.
Just dump the Libreelec tar file in the ~/.update/ directory and reboot.

I have updated the bios to 0062 already and I have followed that guide several times. So your saying f7 to restore bios settings to default.the only thing I need to set is Uefi enabled because I’m pretty sure I’ve done this.Libreelec just shows a black screen with a blinking cursor then the signal to the box seems to go off to that channel but the Nuc is still on.
-
nickr I’d love to be able to update OpenELEC but when trying to install that it shows the title loading screen then starts the installation process down the left hand side but fails to start xorg server.someone must of solved this out there.my Nuc is basically useless till I solve this.
-
Are you copying LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-8.0.2.tar to the update folder?
The other thing, might be wrong about this, but in the Openelec configuration, is there is a check for updates?
-
Right guys read the post please.Ive still been unable to install either LibreELEC or OpenELEC.

You've said openelec works, now you said it doesn't . Please make up your mind.
And I didn't suggest updating openelec to a later version of openelec, I suggested updating it to libreelec.
So please tell us what you actually have working on it now.

Hi guys if you read the full post it started installing then at the end I get a error failed to start xorg server, every time I try it.i need to know what this is and how to fix it.im unaware how to send or get log files.
