Your demo picture doesn't load for me in Kodi 18RC4 in Ubuntu Linux 1604. Kodi doesn't crash, but there is no thumbnail and no picture displayed. It does display on Ubuntu's own picture viewer, just lots of error entries in the log.

and this is spammed numerous times quite a lot. I suggest you open a ticket and report the bug along with every info possible.

I'm not sure how or with what you edited your advancedsettings.xml file, but it seems to contain a lot of cr@p. Possible you've been using the same AS.xml file for years since XBMC...?

I think you can also remove the <gui> section, better yet don't use the AS.xml file at all. First Kodi needs to run, all the bells and whistles come later.

You should make backups of your userdata/Database folder to specifically save the MyVideos*.db and the Textures13.db files. You could also do a Video Library Export which will create .nfo files (and fanart if selected) next to your local/network video files.

Besides that, LibreELEC has 2 reset functions (soft and hard) in the Settings Add-on. You can choose whichever is applicable to you.

The only way I find it easy to fix the issue when it suddenly happens it’s soft reset the LibreELEC and works again

so I made the back up and restoring it its seems to be working and my Addons and builds are there

    I don’t know what causes it a bug ?

Be careful of what you are asking for. Any Kodi systems running "builds" and/or add-ons which are considered 'banned' will result in no support on the LibreELEC and the Kodi forums. You may want to re-read our forum rules (which you already accepted).

    Code
11:37:02.445 T:1936896672 NOTICE: Disabled debug logging due to GUI setting. Level 0.

Well, there is not much to see in that log file. Although, also debugging wasn't enabled.

It kind of stops when network access is going wrong. A faulty network chip perhaps? Even a RPi can break down.

Is the network up in the first place (using "Wait for network")? Try to put the network cable in a different port of the router. Or are you using wifi?

Have I missed something, I have all debugg loggings disabled and all services disabled, I also have internet connecttions disabled..

Apparently you disabled everything including the storing of settings :D

No, debug logging is for ... debug logging. Nothing else. Running LibreELEC on a USB is not what I would recommend. USB sticks can/will wear out sooner or later. They don't have TRIM functionality like SSDs do.

Enabling your logfile is the first step for troubleshooting. Because saving resume points and/or watched states is done in the video library, and it's possible that this file has corrupted at some point. It is one of the very few files in LibreELEC that is being updated time after time.

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link

vpeter After lots of bl00d, trials, errors, sweat & tears, the LibreELEC - SSD - MariaDB combination is up and running. I ended up running the USB/SD Creator tool in Linux (because in Windows the SSD wasn't recognized by the tool), and then restored a full backup from my previously working SD card manually in Ubuntu, as LE's own restore function malfunctioned somehow. :dodgy:

The "Recently added episodes" is still an issue, it bumps onto some sort of timeout. Other than that, it's time for stabilitytesting the coming days, weeks..

    Psst... It's now a USB/SD/SSD Creator tool 8o

Okay, for some odd reason the storage partition wasn't being resized, and the .please_resize_me stub file was also still present.

I removed that file, and resized the partition manually with Gparted. LibreELEC boots normally now. Setting it up now for SQL server duties.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on

You could provide a kodi.log for starters.

When problems occur, using Estuary is vital as it is the system default skin for Kodi. Are they any busy processes in the background that might interfere with core Kodi functionality? Or any installed addons that might disrupt things?

In short, HEVC and h.265 are basically the same thing. It is the successor of the h.264 video format. HEVC uses more complex compression techniques, so any incompatible computer without specific hardware decoding capabilities will have a hard(er) time displaying these videos.

The Odroid C2 is capable of displaying hevc video files via hardware decoding. Including the 10bit variant, as far as I know.

FYI, v8.2.5 with Kodi 17 is capable of doing 8 & 10 bit hevc videos, but Kodi 18 will be more tweaked for the more demanding video types.

You can find a couple of test files on this Kodi wiki page.

If you have issues, start with providing a kodi.log as per instructions hereunder.

Right now, I wrote 3 LE 8.90.x images onto the USB-connected SSD, but every one has the same result: LE keeps deleting / creating / checking / resizing the storage partition and reboots after each reboot. It's Kingston 120GB ssd, on which Raspbian installs (and resizes) and runs fine. So I have no clue what LibreELEC keeps doing differently.
