Sorry I tried compiling that version but it just won't compile with Ubuntu 18 and I don't really want to waste time trying to fix it. it should compile under ubuntu 16.

Well I'm well aware of the struggle to get pegasus up and running. Since the developer only refers to some general distro packages it's hard to find out what exactly is needed and also the static linked binary did not help me to get all libs, plugins & qml files together. I recompiled qt countless times until everything worked... also gstreamer is quite *!&$%§! since it's meson build is quite nice but does not work well if it comes to detect all include files.
So I guess I will have to enter the QT Forum and ask for some advises how to minimize the amount of libs.
I am glad I am not the only one struggling with the static linking for QT! I must have compiled QT about 100 times, with a crappy laptop that took around 20 minutes to compile
wish I could help more, sorry

Unfortunately I don't, I had to do so much trial and error to get QT everywhere to work for Pegasus I think I had a few nightmares. But I did get help here Qt Development | Qt Forum

I understand the motivation for Retropie since ES is basically your gui and if you just want to watch a movie it can be annoying to get a controller / keyboard everytime you want to switch to Kodi. But since in my build Kodi is controllable by remote & IMHO if I want to play a game I connect a gamepad anyway so I don't really understand the actual usecase.
So I've checked your libcec version and it's 4.x too but still an quite old version compared to the recent LE 9 one. I never really used cec so how can I trigger the error? Is it enough to run ES with enabled cec on a tv with cec support?
Yeah that makes sense for Retropie.
On my 2 TVs (one that doesn't even have CEC) ES just crashes after exiting with CEC enabled, since I run it as a service it will just restart, but if I run it from the command line I can see it segfaults. But as I mentioned not sure if this was fixed recently or not as I had no use for it and haven't tried since then.

hi,
where to find img.gz an tar of Sx05RE v1.8.6 ?
thank's
I can recompile this version and re-upload it, But is there an specific reason you need it?
-
Well basically ES can support CEC more or less out of the box by libcec v2.7.6RP installs without CEC support · Issue #508 · RetroPie/EmulationStation · GitHub so I can remove a patch that skipped libcec linking but I have no clue if it will work and still I don't know what's the benefit of it in the actual use case
If its to be used on a S905, ES gives problems when using CEC, the program will segfault when it returns from a game, at least this was when I tried it a few months back, I had to remove CEC support for my build when this happened. And my 2 cents, I also do not see the benefit from using CEC with ES .

niabi , I have been using your CE testing version from june 11 untill now on a S912, do I have to wipe and reinstall everything on my SD card? or is there a way to do an upgrade?, I ask mainly to avoid re-copy my emulationstation theme/screenshots an tousands of games.
Thanks in advace
You should not need to wipe, but I have not tested this, specially since I have no S912 at hand to test.

Edit: I have found a problem with the last release. EmulationStation addon cannot be launched from Kodi, it just doesn't stars
Damn I knew I forgot something will fix this asap.

I was wondering if this happens at upgraded systems & clean installs as well. I use Linux Mint 18.x which is based on Ubuntu 18.04 but without having these problems. Anyway it's easy to fix but awkward. On the other hand I never had a wrong hash when I pulled upstream code so if the hash differs it's might still system related.
It wasn't a clean install, but I might be able to do test that in the weekend.
-
So maybe it's time for sudo apt dist-upgrade I have no clue why the hash sometimes differs. I downloaded it on my Windows systems with 40char hash and got a diffrent hash too... weird. I suspect this happens because Github might compresses the packages on the fly and maybe some servers have diffrent compressions levels?!
I actually upgraded to 18 yesterday, but still got the same problem, so who knows, its not a big deal for me, but just pointing it out
It could be the same problem like at mame, github supports to print the latest version of the git into a file. This changes with every commit to git even for old commits. Thats super stupid but then the hash changes with every commit for every old zip
Could be, pretty weird and like you said stupid, but oh well.

I guess you're refering to this? Fix many wrong checksums · shantigilbert/LibreELEC.tv@9fdb332 · GitHub Well maybe something like this? Fixing some SHA256sum + fix dosbox-sdl2 build by magicseb · Pull Request #2 · 5schatten/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
I deleted the source file & downloaded it again

I also use Ubuntu 16.04, so it might be a problem with Ubuntu. Thanks for the reply

Hey 5schatten may I ask what command are you using to compile this for amlogic s905? I get a lot of checksum errors that I have to manually fix if I use this command:
maybe its something on my end but it seems weird, after I change the checksums everything compiles fine.

I already have it, I just need to upload it. it no longer uses LE tho.

Sorry not on mine, the box and vendor say its 3GB but nothing else, all the programs I ran on android said it was really just 2GB if yours says its 3GB I don't know how to help you.

Other thing, i've figure out a way to detect and autoconfigure the controllers for DreamCast - so if you have more than one controller with a config (also made a script to create those configs files) the system detects and changes the emu.cfg to correspond to the correct controllers, and a script to make a .UAE for amiga games (works fine, but only tested ECS games) that allows to run a amiga game from emulationstation and get all floppys loaded, way simpler than the CHDs that load faster, but also is simpler to add games this way - put the adf (or ziped adf) games in the amiga directory, when select the ADF the script search for other games corresponding to other floppies (based on disk N of N in the name to work), then create a temp.uae and loads it on the emulator, not need to creating all uae files one by one..
Looking fowards for help, sorry for the poor english and again, great work on this!I am very interested in this scrip, care to send it to me ? or is it somehwere online?

Sorry, that is the only way to upgrade, I don't have the TAR since it was not needed.
