I suspect this is an issue with Samba permissions. You should be looking carefully how the shares are setup on the Windows server.
Keep in mind LibreElec is a Linux system accessing Windows shares via Samba. 9 times out of 10 in my experience the problem is in the share configuration on the Windows machine. Given that you are only having problems with external shares on the server I would start with the server config.

lirc on LibreELEC works out of the box on 99% of devices with no extra configuration needed. Flirc you have to map all the key presses and is actually more work in the end.
A couple of nice things about Flirc though.
First is that you can use virtually any remote under the sun. I like using old DirecTV remotes. Got a bag of 5 of them for $2 at a local thrift store.
Second, since your device sees it as a USB keyboard it works with anything running Kodi with zero config. Plug and play.
Third, you only have to map a remote to it once. After that you can copy that config to other Flircs as needed.
I get that $20 is a hit to the pocketbook, but for me it has been worth it. I've been using the same config for several years and never had to touch a LIRC config or remote.conf.
Once you get angry enough with all the lirc nonsense you'll get a Flirc and be done with it.

In general yes. You can get a good idea by running LE from a good quality SD card.
From my experience NAND will be slightly faster than SD, but not dramatically so.

I am waiting on some clarification on this issue as well.
I have seen a couple of posts suggesting that you must re-flash the original android firmware first, and then proceed with installtointeral from sd card as usual. If this is the case, it would be nice to know why this is necessary.

If you haven't tried it yet have a look at the new version of Mimic for Krypton. It's been simplified from Jarvis.
I find that it's very clean and requires relatively few clicks to get things done.
TF, SD, USB it all works the same. You can either leave the USB in all the time and run it like that or follow the instructions to install it to the device's internal storage.
I would highly recommend running from the USB until you have done some more reading here.

These are about $10 more than a RPi3 with 2G ram and all the bells and whistles. Unless you just like to tinker, I don't see the advantage over any old s905x android box.
That being said, I would imagine the Amlogic build would at least mostly work in its stock configuration.
If you're looking for a VPN service then the world's your oyster.

Thanks for reply, well after doing some more research I've settled for NOT turning on the transcode option. I'm a wanna be an audiophile and someone mentioned that usually most AAC sound sources have already been converted from the original DD or DTS, to then havr to transcode it back again to DD means even more loss of qualify at the end of the chain.So even though my amp won't light up and say Dobly digital is maybe better to leave it as AAC, that's my understanding anyways, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong [emoji4]
