Hi wrxtasy,
I am extremely happy with what you brought to these builds and I have been using your latest (?) S905 build for quite some time now:
LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.5-Chroma.422.10bit.img.gz
There is one thing I noticed only recently, because I rarely watch that kind of content:
Refresh rate switching to 24.00Hz is flawed. I am pretty sure it is being displayed as 23.976Hz, because frame skips occur.
These skips do not occur if I change the UI resolution to 24.00Hz beforehand.Hi
I have the same feeling about 8.2.5-Chroma.422.10bit, on a S905X running at 1080p.
I just downgraded to 8.2.4-Test, and 24.000 seems to be correctly displayed

How to edit smb.conf, the proper way?
LE 8.3.2.1
Thanks!
Edit: The problem exist with the core elec too. With Kodi on android is OK.
Hi
you can edit ~/.config/samba.conf (there's a sample file)

Conclusion:
My S905X box has a bad internal ethernet interface
My external USB 1Gb adapter is working well
Hi
could you please share the brand/model of your Ethernet adapter ?
Thanks

But you loose audio passthrough when enabling "Sync playback to display:"...
-
wow, I wonder how much room for improvement there is still left.. that system to ram loading is amazing. My 1gb box feels way faster.
But I also wanted to overclock gpu, doing so doesn't persist a reboot. I tried putting it in some file recommended, but it also didn't work.
An entry in LE settings to overclock would be really nice, to amke it easier.
Hi
you can try to add this in /storage/.config/autostart.sh :
echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo 5 > /sys/class/mpgpu/cur_freq
But check the temperature of your box

Hi
Have you tried 8.2.2.2 from kszaq ? It includes the fix from afl1.
-
Hi kszaq
On my boxes automatic updates are "half working" : new .tar file is downloaded in the .update directory, but I don't get any notification.
I've installed 8.2.1.2 from scratch, with the default settings. Could it be related to the skin I'm using (Arctic Zephyr) ?

kszaq can you confirm 8.2.1.2 was compiled 5th December 2017.
I am 99.99% sure i updated but in system info i see 17.6 with this date.
Just checking as i previously had an issue way back where i had to use device tree to make a previous update stick.
You can check with the kernel date :

KyleS output_rgb parameter is read-only.
Isn't it write-only ?

I am on 8.2.1.1, but the system does not seem to automatically update. Is there a way to "force" the update instead of having the burn the img file on the sd card again? Thanks.
Hi
you just have to drop the .img.gz or .tar in the /storage/.update folder (which is also accessible through the 'Update' SMB share) and reboot.
-
Hi kszaq
absolutly no issue with this build. Many thanks for your work.
-
I've used first test build released yerterday (20171213185420) for 2 hours, absolutely no issue.
Box is currently updating to today's build, I'll report later.

Hi kszaq
with the latest test build (20171213220136), from times to times I get a 1 second black screen, but no more pink/green colors.
This is not perfect, but definitely usable
I'm going to try the previous build you posted yesterday and report.
-
Well, I spoke too soon
Pink/green went back after a few minutes...strange thing is that echoing 1 to /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/output_rgb once again makes the issue disapear...
Here's what dmesg shows when running the command :

This build sounds very promising
I updated and had the pink screen just after reboot, but it went back to normal after echoing 1 to /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/output_rgb !

Would it be an option to use 2 adapters, HDMI -> DVI and DVI -> HDMI ?
I read on another thread that DVI only supports RGB...
