dtech, hello.
My MXQ PRO 4K 5G now works on LibreELEC HD18Q v9.2.8.11. Can I use LibreELEC-Generic_S805.arm-9.2.8.12.tar for update, or better use LibreELEC-HD18Q.arm-9.2.8.12.tar? Thanks a lot for your work.

Regardless, the RTL8723AS wireless chip works perfectly, and it has already been included in the stable version 9.2.8.10. So now you can safely turn on the automatic update again.
Thanks. Really works perfectly.
P.S. HDMI-CEC also doesn't work. Nothing can be done about it? The biggest inconvenience when using a TV box is to replug the power supply every time to turn it on.
Did the driver load itself at boot, or did you start it manually with modprobe?
Automatically, of course.
This setting requires a reboot, after that please send a link generated by journalctl | paste. Thanks.
http://ix.io/4zoY This?
There is a new test version from my master branch that got a new version from the rtl8723as driver
At first glance, it works well.
I added the missing module alias to the driver, please try to see if it loads the module automatically during boot:

Thanks. And a follow up question. Can this firmware be updated automatically through auto-update?
Wow, that's good news, the driver seems to be working. Did you manage to connect to a Wi-Fi network?
Yes. Works good. But you need to start it manually after a reboot.
It works. http://ix.io/4yLd
P.s.: We just need to find out who is selling exactly the same box. If anyone knows accurate information about this, please let me know. Thanks.
I bought here: link. But I think the TV box is sent completely randomly.
Next step: I would need an lsmod output.

Unfortunately, I don't have an S805 device with SDIO wifi, so if I don't manage to get such a box, I can only rely on user tests.
Btw, also doesn't work Power On from remote control. Can anything be done about it?
In addition, it would be good to identify whether the same PCB is also in your box.
From a completely different operating system, I won't really get information about the status of the driver I modified, so it's unfortunately useless for me. However, I/O errors related to the SD card are also present here, only in a smaller volume.
It would be worth running this in overwrite mode, before you write an image to the SD card again.
I took a third SD card, formatted the SD Card Formatter, burned the image with Rufus instead of LibreELEC USB-SDCreator on another computer. And it's all for nothing.
The log should start like this:
I tried to take the log from alexelec and it looks like what you said. It doesn't fit, does it?
Now some SD card related R/W error keeps repeating itself over and over again...
I took another SD card, but there are still errors at the beginning of the log. So what to do now?
The above command should be run relatively quickly after Kodi startup, preferably without pressing any button on the remote control.
Unfortunately, the log buffer is limited, so what you sent is only filled by pressing buttons on the remote control.
I would be happy to get a syslog from you:
dmesg | paste
Right? Launch using an Ethernet connection.

If anyone has a similar box, or knows where to get a 100% identical one, please let me know.
UPD. I managed to install an older version of the Droid HW Info and it showed rtl8723as. Installed the new snapshot version and the wifi still doesn't work.
If anyone has a similar box, or knows where to get a 100% identical one, please let me know.
I have an MXQ PRO 4K 5G, but Wi-Fi module probably RTL871X. Can you add driver for this module?
