I think found the problem - I needed to add an "owner" tag to the older recordings which didn't seem to have this. Once this was done, they appeared in Kodi.
Where did you discover that information from.

Must be something in the air today. Not the first forum bashing post I’ve read. All I can say is hats off to you guys for your patience.
Display MoreThat's a VERY HONEST* answer to put after someone just told that he doesn't feel welcome
*"piss of we don't want to see you around" would have been even more honest petediscreteWhich makes us wonder what the maximum 1 post every 40 minutes restriction is for at all if not for spammers and bots... anti engaging feature against human beings? -> mission achieved
Is it? I'm soon a silver surfer and still remember the time when we had stunning 28kb/s and a busy phone line on top...
For me (being a moderator myself) and very active in a lots of communities (including joining new ones quite regularly) I can say it's the opposite of the norm. Normally it's sign up and dive right in (maybe a limit of maximum post/day with a freshman account).
The measurements taken in this forum look a little tragic to me and like a flash back when we had this phpbb forum type of software and every now and then we had to disable sign-ups because of attack of the bots... Luckily these times are (mostly?) over nowadays...
Yes, to be expected. And often better to "clean" afterwards than to over block users that want to participate. As you say eventually rule breaking content will be posted - but in a h-e-a-l-t-h-y community that is no problem at all because every one can flag content and then mods/admins can react on it easily without playing censor an dis/allowing each and every post.
I feel both
People (admins) don't have to this. I never came across such a locked-down community in the last 10 years. And spammers have a really hard time when using state-of-the art forum/community software btw.
And then, when you think you got it all already...
As you have tagged me, If I had a dollar for every-time I heard age used an excuse I’d be a very wealthy man. It’s used here quite a lot too.
In my 7th decade now and have never needed to use it as an excuse or for attention. I think both apply in your case.
My original suggestion to you was made in a very gentle and subtle way. You’ve chosen to interpret it differently. You’ve got my attention now.
Now I suggest you fully read the rules, read the wiki and the many duplicate posts that are made here on the same subject. You may actually learn from them.
If that’s not to your liking well I suggest you join a men’s shed. They’d probably have more time to humour you. You won’t get much traction here. Folks are way too busy for that.
Interesting from this review there are auto sensing issues with this model if I’m reading it correctly. https://productz.com/en/samsung-ue40d8000ys/p/qxqmn
There's no automated migration process for TVH 4.2 to 4.3 from what I know, the only instructions I could find was "copy the files over and maybe it'll work". When I installed 4.3 it just showed the setup wizard.
Unfortunately that seems to cover different problems - changing the path of the recordings (path didn't change for me), and going from older versions to 4.2. As I said, TVH can see the old recordings and metadata, the problem is the Kodi TVS client isn't showing them.
Might be worth taking it up with the addon provider so. I’m not experiencing the problem and wasn’t sure how familiar you were with TVH. Looks like you have your head around things. Remember we don’t have an idea what level of experience users have until they say so https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.hts
Ok. You seem quite capable in the Linux environment. Not everyone that posts here is.
You can create a script to import the 4.2 recordings into 4.3. Generally when upgrading versions of TVH as part of the upgrade process you’re supposed to migrate your old recordings. Clearly this didn’t happen in your case.
If you’d like to read through this link you’ll get a better insight into how this issue can be resolved. https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/29697
If you switch back to 4.2 can you see the recordings that you created in 4.3 and 4.2
No what path are they being shown to be saved to. You’ll find that in the Configuration section in TVH.
In the TVH web UI where are the recordings shown as being saved.
It sounds like this forum may not be for you. Just an observation from what you have posted above. Do bear in mind that the project developers give all their time gratis and get very little in return.
Looks like is was something to do with the libreelec settings problem. Installed the nightly with that fixed and TVHeadend is working.
If you’re restoring a backup from a different hardware platform which I suspect you are, an RPI Arm processor to X86__64 processor you are likely dumping the Arm built version of TVH onto the x86_64 machine.
CvH could you confirm if that could be indeed the case here.
Decide what version of TVH you want to run and enable it. That will point the TVH service daemon to that version.
Once you have done this go to the TVH Web UI and run the Configuration again noting the name and password you use for both Admin and User access. Do a fresh scan and map the services you require.
Once you’ve completed the above, in LE go to PVR Live Tv section and delete all channels and epg settings. Reboot LE and you should have all the new channels and epg you found when you ran the Configuration Wizard in TVH.
Maybe you could report back here and let us know how you are progressing.
I think most of this has been explained to you here. I’d avoid using backups of LE from different hardware platforms. Start fresh installing LE/TVH server/client on your Dell machine Backup TVHeadend server via SSH
You pretty much posted the same thing here but never came back with any update. You don’t need to delete either version. Just disable one version and enable the other.
Btw have you got LE installed on this machine via a VM or Docker container. You haven’t mentioned how LE is booting.
I'm wondering if its the same problem as the device name. I've looked at the log and I can't see anything obvious. I'm hoping someone who understands them better can spot something.
Did you check what I suggested.
Can you supply a little more detail on the TVH side. If you are talking about the name and password for TVH in the web ui not being accepted all you need do is access the credentials in
kodi/userdata/service.tvheadend42 folder.
accesscontrol and you should find it there.
