To simplify my setup, I just use Window Media Player in Windows 10 as a UPNP/DLNA server and it is serving all media files to LE in a MXQ S805 box.

* in satellite hobbies there is a lot potential customer, if you could make a little survey how many sat stb sales in a year, you are gonna be surprise. while this amlogic processor has the capability to be a satellite receiver, so why don't you grab their customer, you could even make a proposal to cable provider to become their cable stb designer, imagine cable stb with LE capability, fyi enigma2 sat boxes twice the wetek play prices.
Openbox Combo box all-in-one in the market already have all these features like Satellite Receiver HD DVB-S2 + DVB-T2 for terresterial, DVB-C for Cable and IPTV through ethernet or wifi.

@Vaidya I am using Logitech K400 plus with MXQ S805 LE installed and working fine. For Wetek play2 opine OK.

@kostaman imo, likely capacitor as bad ram may not even boot up. Can you change the caps?
-
Yes, mine too have this problem before but using the toothpick method finally booted up.
-
@jacob, you got to try many times. Don't give up.

Was thinking more of the ram being 1GB or 2GB that matters or does it?
Using current release whether it utilize the whole 1GB or not? -
The S905x chip only has a couple of codec formats it can play that the S905 cannot. They are vp9 / HDR or whatever.
The problem is the S905x fails to play those formats properly due to software not developed properly.
The other failures are this chip has been tested in various tech sites and it performed pretty poorly against the S905x.
It is apparently under clocked to 1.5ghz for whatever reason. (Maybe Overheating causing throttle) I am sure in LE the chip will improve in performance however the formats that the S905x is able to play compared to the S905 is of no use to the Majority of users.Appreciate your info and clarification. Thanks.

1) Add 135 to :
smb ports = 445 135
2) workgroup = WORKGROUP
Both PC and the unit must be WORKGROUP (or both same Group of another name).3) enable samba share on the unit too. Windows network already have samba.
Hope this can solve your share.

No screws on this box, the back just 'snaps offThe number is under the heat sink. Remember to replace with new thermal compound.

I thought the clue was in the name A95X
I ordered a S905X with 2gb ram but until I actually see that it has these features I guess we'll never know with this multitude of 'cheap tat' from our busy Chinese friendsHave a look inside the box, just 4 screws under the rubber foot.

Check your settings in windows 10. The last update I had switched all my machines to using homegroups - which I have always avoided - and needing passwords to access shares. Thanks for the suggestion but after upgrading windows 10 lately, homegroup is in a mess, cannot join and cannot make a new one yet.

It is linux samba that requires a password, just use the user login for the W10 machine then choose remember. You may want to create a user on windows, depending on your level of paranoia/expertise; I just use one account as admin.Somehow, it do not work with the Window user password. However, Media Player as a UPnP network device do work to share media files from the PC but need to use playlists to share the files.
I have found a better solution using the Universal Media Server in the PC to share files to the LE set top box which can easily see all media files. Now, both way traffic, PC access LE and vice versa is smooth and nice. No need authentication by password.

Likewise, I have already enable "share with everyone" for a folder in a windows 10 PC and another windows 10 pc can access all the files in that folder. However, the LE set-top box can access the PC upto a point it will ask for Name and Password.
Both the PCs need not to do this as the share setting was set as not requiring password. On the other hand, both PCs can access the folders in the LE set-top box without the need for password.
Would appreciate some help to tweak the samba config file of the LE system to omit the need for password.

I have installed LE 7.0.2.5 on nand of MXQ S805 1G/8G Black tv box branded "leelbox" produced in mid 2015. It was sluggish with Android 4.4, a whole bunch of softwares together with Kodi.
Everything works fine now and fast.Much thanks to kszaq for the hard work to provide a workable system and also all others who one way or another contributed to this endearvour.

nickr,
Try to found reset through the AV socket, some TV boxes have inside reset. It has been suggested to use a toothpick or a satay stick instead of metal to avoid a short circuit.
