It turns out that under Catalina external drives are protected by SIP or "System Integrity Protection." You can disable SIP if you care to and all your content will be available.
There is a theory that a zeroconf/NFS client may access files stored on these drives by asking permission and providing credentials, but I guess Kodi would have to actualize that.

I guess this is both a warning and a question. I serve local content stored on external drives from my mac running Mojave to my chromebox. I have been running betas and now the golden master of macos Catalina on a separate volume. As of now it does not appear that libreelec can access local storage via zeroconf (nfs) when I am running Catalina. So this is a warning -- if you are using a mac to serve local content, hold off on upgrading system software. As a question -- has anyone found the proper syntax to make this work? I realize that this is an Apple problem.

I don't remember seeing a post here or on Mlhouse' s pages saying that this issue had been fixed. I've been using the workaround which was posted last winter. No big deal. It all works fine. Just curious.

What about Chromebox problems with the kernel? Maybe pin a workaround on the support page or have you included the workaround in the release?

See this thread: Crashing in Mojave
Etcher works really well.

Could you guys elaborate, please? I'm ignorant, I guess.

My old Asus Chromebox is reaching its end of life and I need to buy a new box. The Vero 4k+ looks interesting but I would want to run LibreELEC rather than the proprietary OSMC software. I believe this box has an AMLOGIC chipset. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts? TIA

Which Harmony Remote?
-
What model Harmony do you have? Your remote might be looking for bluetooth. If your droid supports bluetooth, then enable it in the libreelec settings.

I probably should have posted in general support. But iperf3 is the solution. A lot of trial and error my part to get it up and running. My gigabit ethernet seems to be working fine but i'm still trying to figure out why I'm suddenly having caching issues. I've used openelec>libreelec for 3 or 4 years now and never had an issue.

I have local files on a Mac running latest OS. My libreelec (asus chromebox) connects to my Mac via zeroconfig (NFS). I have gigabit ethernet. How can I test actual connection speed??

You probably need a Milhouse build. Search here: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)

Try this prefpane. Works with zeroconfig.

ICE (Homeland Security) has seized the kodi.tv domain for "willful copyright infringment." WTF?

yes I am using Flirc/Kodi int he my harmony software and everything except the menu button and the back button work great. I have tried both the flirc gui and the keymap editor addon with no luck. For those two buttons when I hit the button to pair nothing happens. I can use the colored buttons to accomplish the same thing but I have been using the harmony for years and am used to using the buttons in their original place.
A long press on the enter key should bring up the context menu as appropriate.

Although I was able to get the remote working, I could never actually get the menu key to work properly or the back key. I was able to use the keymap editor addon to assign back or context to the colored keys but not their actual key. I ended up buying a flirc and still had the same problem. Using the same remote in windows these keys work correctly. Has anyone successfully gotten these two keys to work?Don't know what "device" you are using in MyHarmony. Try "Flirc/Kodi". Flirc should work right of the box.

Asus Chromebox is great. MrChromebox.tech

I have also two boxes, other with Openelec (bluetooth working just fine), and other with LibreElec 7.0.2 stable, and I just can't get it paired. With IR navigation is very slobby, so I don't want to use that after I've used to bluetooth with Openelec. Could there be some problem that Harmony won't pair with other box?I gave up and bought a FLIRC which works fine. Once again I should note that the box picks every bluetooth device in my house except for Harmony.
