think this is visual bug in Firefox 53.0.3 (but fine in Internet explorer 11). But seems it helps if page is refreshed once or twice.
this was part of the bug where the last post since you visit was shifted upwards for random reason (fixed)

there is a official 4.2 packages from Tvheadend since ~2weeks now 
My adapter is working fine without MB in 8.0.2.
it isn't directly connected to media_build (mb just allows to use drivers from much newer kernels at older ones) - the adapter is "just" broken for Kernel >4.10
You could test the current LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) if it works or not.

yes it was a common feature in the past till the unread system in the current form popped up what supersedes it basically in all points

what is the difference between "unread posts" and "new posts"
"unread" tracks not seen/read posts forever (you can click ofc read all to clear it)
last visit shows new posts since last visit regardless if you have missed something at your visit before or not

the problem is that everyone uses the board differently and had different habits (for ex never heard of this one)
if I can include this somehow i will do, same with posts in last 24h what some ppl have demands out of whatever reasons
It's not the same thing at all.
it is the same but it is not limited to some time or last visit - it tracks what you have seen and what not.
If you want to have the same (as close as possible atm) just hit the read all button once you are finished - next visit you have exactly "new posts since last visit"
On the old forum I had 'new posts' as a shortcut which gave me a list of recently updated posts
You have now "Unread Posts" which shows you everything you haven't seen.
Ofc you will probably never look at all - so you can double klick at the avatars to mark them as read (works at forum hierarchic level too) in the "Unread Posts" view.
If you have too much you can also click here
so you have at each visit only show what you have not seen. If you have written something in a thread you get also a notification that there is a new post - so you "should" never miss some activity.
doesn't look so good on ios 8 safari. works fine with ios 9 safari.
There are several glitches due the layout change from the default theme - i try to fix them if I find them - sadly I guess that bug is ios8 (aka old browser) problem. But likely it get fixed because it is just some padding change.
I tried the same setup with my tuner on an x86 laptop (i5-3340M) running LibreELEC 8.0.1
are you able to test it with Ubuntu and kernel 4.9+ ?
Sadly I am not even too sure if it is a Kernel or a LE problem. Like said without HW impossible to test
Edit. Really struggling with adding images / adding text that's not hyperlinked after an image too, but that's probably just user error.
you can just paste the images into the post field, btw you posted an url to imgur not to an image 
btw I added imgur inclusion that it translate the urls now (looks like only gallery links)

yes this isn't intended (from the board makers) because "nobody" needs to direct jump to some random page between start and end (tbh I have no explanation to do this at a regular basis)
you have the possibility to:
- jump to the last page (if you click the avatar at the right)
- click at the thread link to jump to the last not seen post
- click at the thread link to jump to the first page if you have already seen all posts
without hardware i can't bisect the problem, would be nice to know at least if the same happens at latest ubuntu with kernel 4.9 (if someone could test this)

17.3 (17.2.1 however they call it) should be out in the next 24h because 17.2 is broken and gets replaced - so rather pointless to push out a new version today

Oh, and I noticed that even with a browser width of 1000px (the limit is somewhere near a width of 1027px) the navigation is replaced with the "hamburger" menu which seems a bit overkill
yes this is overkill - this is the default for some reason (actually not sure why)

There is no link to the last post at the right side of the topic.
I have to wait for our server guy to fix it if you add /?action=firstNew to the url it works (as said its accidentally removed)

yes this this already known, this will be reduced soonish (due multible ppl involved with different time-windows we need to get the ball rolling - even a bit unfinished) - the current style is basically the default wbb style with changed colors
come up with something better
there are no real alternatives, the oss boards are not even close to be a alternative (besides "discourse" what is not a tradition forum) and vbb ... are not that different but ridiculous expensive
