Sadly due that refresh of that chip a lot USB-DVB-S2 devices are affected (DVBSky 960 likely too, TT 4200 ...).

So basically I can't really tell you at the moment any good advice.

"Workaround" is for example an Digibit R1 Sat>IP Box or maybe an Digibit Twin Sat>IP Box - but if this is useful or not depends at your Sat hardware.

Plan is to add it to the repo, the current addon gets dropped soon. The "new" addon gets pred then, its rather messy due the amount of needed libs but you can update the whole chrome your self and won't need to wait for "us" to update it. That approach uses the "normal" bin for linux instead of compiling an own version for LE.

Current state is hacky, but looks like very well working (besides audio atm).

yes Tvheadend can do this, you can choose between *.ts, *.mp4 and *.mkv

if your TV understand mkv use that instead of the outdated mp4

could ypu post the output of lsusb -v | paste pls c/p the command, it gave you an url for the log -> easier to look at
