But those ir shipped at the dvb devices are always an mess.
If you mean by ootb "out of the box" then it didn't work for me. Although it works on windows. By the way when I installed the latest driver from dvbshop.net the installer was titled "Terratec S2 USB HD" and the Lirc software that came with it was titled "TeviiRC". It is silly how they can't come with their own software until now
.Also before facing the dependency error on TVheadend HTSP Client like asaber I was playing with channels and I have noticed that any EPG data that is not in English is not displayed correctly although I have installed its addon, also youtube titles have the same problem. Any idea about that?

I can't wait to go back home and try it. Once I put my hands on my Technotrend I'll report back here. But I'm afraid that because on my device the chip is different (B version) but has the same device ID as the old one it will cause a problem. What do you think CvH?

Strange thing, if you go to their website and try to navigate to this product you will not find it. Instead you will find Sky TV Ultimate 6. They have indeed promised a new version 2 months before. Thanks for the link.

Because according to this page Linuxtv.org PCTV 461e your tuner uses Montage M88DS3103 as a demodulator. Since the beginning of 2018, this chip has been modified to a new revision M88DS3103B which is not yet supported by any Linux Distro including Libreelec. And since you bought your tuner recently, it could be a good nominee to be one of the many tuners that have encountered this problem this year.
Anyway I can't read the Log as I have the same problem like you with another tuner, but may be CvH can help us as usual. CvH may be we have another device to add to the list
.I hope that I'm wrong and the problem is something else.

When did you buy your DVB-S2 tuner? or to be more specific, Do you know the manufacturing date of your tuner?

I know that the manufacturer is not forced to support his device under Linux but he should not declare on his site and through support emails that the device is supported under Linux. I really feel sad and tricked because I cannot file a complain against him in his country or return the device back
.I wish I have the minimum knowledge to start building a driver for it since I have the device. What do you think trsqr ? Is it too difficult to learn it? because I am willing to learn.

The manufacturer promised to ship me a device so I can try to build a working driver for it. The way I see it, it should not be too difficult, but will probably take a couple of weeks (provided I find the time to do it).
trsqr I don't mean to push you, but is there any update about this?

Maybe you got an RMA with the correct address from them in your packet during shipping, did you ?
Unfortunately returning this device back using international shipping will be expensive because I have to pay for that. In addition, the cartoon box got damaged during shipping, so I think the shop will complain about that and I will as a result loose twice. I did receive some papers with the box but I do not understand anything from it because they are all written in German. What does an RMA look like?
I would rather keep the device for now and wait for a working driver. It is really so sad how they declare the the device is compatible with Linux on their German site while it is not, and nothing is said on the English version of the site. I agree with you it is ridiculous.

Nothing. It has not been recognized by tvheadend under DVB Inputs.

1. update to the image from test
I have used this image here for tt-4600: Index of /test/tt-4600-new-rev/
2. upload the dvb-demod-m88ds3103b firmware
I did not find firmware folder by default so I had to make one myself then copy the file inside it.

I have included only this line in the code.

you could just try to tune or scan even without any antenna cable connected. That should be enough.

here you go Xn3 . I have also double checked that the file dvb.conf has been created with correct code after reboot. there is some change in the output, I hope that helps.
6. Start watching a channel using any software.
7. Stop the capture as soon as you see a picture (the quicker the better - the file will grow very fast).
Is it necessary to start a channel because I have no access now to any satellite signal. I will do it and give you a feedback immediately but setting up the LNB on my roof is going to take a while. sorry for that
