Perfect on my NUC! Keep up the good work!

Simply read this topic and iT works. No need for a manual

The exact steps are in this thread. Just read

Nothing wrong with that Nuc. I Use iT all the time with 8.2.0 LE.
Maybe you have faulty one ?

I appreciate your help. I really do. I'm just mad about the new policy that was forced on us. There has to be a work-around for those of us that don't want to play MS's games. Windows Network sharing has been really buggy for years now. The average non-technical home user doesn't want pages of instructions to fix something that always worked before.
I editted my previous post.
What i did, made a user + password assigned it to the shares and everything is working great.
5 mins of work maximum.

This seems quite odd to me. Why would someone add an extra account to Windows 10 just to allow file sharing ? It makes no sense at all. I currently have a local user account on my Windows 10 desktop (with latest Fall Creator's Update). I do NOT have a MS account. My shared folders are shared with "Everyone". No password has ever been set-up or used. Adding an extra user may affect logging into Windows. Currently, my desktop goes directly to Windows without a login screen.
New policy in Windows requires shares to have password enabled. Thats why smd shares are different now in LE.
This is the new security setting. And making a user does not effect the startup or login to your pc.
You only need the created user for the shares.
-
smb://<IP of your pc>
- Add a extra user on your pc
- Give that user a password
- for example : user : Kodi password: kodi
Go to the shares on your pc that need to be shared for kodi.
Rightclick the shares, select share and select the user you just made to have access.
Do that for all folders you want to share with Libreelec.
Go to Libreelec, and add the shares and give in the username and password of the created user on your pc.

Make password and user on shares . And Use internal ip in stead of share name.

Have the same Nuc and No problems. Works flawlessly. Maybe fresh install of 8.2.0?
-
Hm, was searching for 10 minutes now for that menu point but didn´t find it....sorry for the question....where do I find this?
All right, didn´t activate "Expert" - found the SMB client. I added the IP of my local machine and changed to SMBv1
Now i am asked to give a username and pw to complete the share, but there is nothing set. How can I change this?
Set a username and password for your shares and use those in LE samba settings.

is there any unofficial build(s) that has this patched applied? I made a mistake to purchase the NUC6CAYH and now it's unusable
Unusable? I have the same NUC and its great!

No memory problem here on my NUC

Maybe you can install the Windows version of Kodi. As it runs Windows 10.
