I use SSH to transfer the custom remote.conf to the /storage/.config folder.

If you have samba sharing enabled you can also access is via your PC's file explorer.

The remote.conf in .config takes priority over the default one, so there's no need to delete it.

    probably

As bubblegum57 states, this would be the simplest way to get the correct remote.conf if you still have the Android OS installed. . .

    Thanks for info, I missed Bubblegum's info/post.

I booted box into android, copied the remote.conf from etc to a USB I had plugged in the box.

Rebooted box into LibreELEC and copied remote.conf from USB to .config

Rebooted the box into LibreELEC box remote still not working :(

Any idea what I am not doing/doing incorrectly?

This is what's in my remote.conf that I copied to the LibeELEC .config folder:-

If nobody has done the work for you already, just write your own. It is easy and you can then upload the remote.conf you create to the remote.conf repository and help others that might have the same problem

To get to the .config folder am I right in thinking in Kodi (LibreELEC) File Manager I choose:-

    1. Add a source> browse> Root filesystem> Storage

    2. Then select my added source (storage) and the .config folder I need to add my remote.conf is there?

I have added a remote.conf file to the above .config folder and it made no difference (maybe it was the wrong one), I did restart Kodi

I noticed that there was already a remote.conf file in the LibreELEC root directory, should I have deleted this one, or does a remote.conf in the .config folder supercede the remote.conf in the LibreELEC root on loading?

Try this one remote.zip?dl=1 It was made last year for the MXQ M12 S805 box and worked fine so good luck and hope it works well for you too.

    Ray,

I have a remote that looks the same as the one in the post you replied to, it came with a M9S PRO Android 6.0 Amlogic S905X Quad Core 2G/16GB Smart TV Box 4K Media Player

Are these look alike remotes all the same?

Will the file you posted work for my remote?

    I have a S905X, 2GB/16GB box.

I downloaded LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.1.4.img,gz and gxl_p212_2g,dtb, to my PC.

I used the LibreELEC USB-SD creator to install LibreELEC on my microSD.

All worked well and I have a dtb.img file installed in the LibreELEC partition on my microSD.

Do I need to do anything with the gxl_p212_2g,dtb that I downloaded?

Thanks for info, I am looking at connecting my laptop wirelessly to my android box and using windows explorer to make small changes.

The link won't be fast enough to do large folder/file transfers, I'll do that by copying the files to a different USB, plug that into my android box booted to android and transfer the large folders/files from USB to USB using ES File Explorer.

Then reboot my android box to LibreELEC.

I used the USB-SD Creator on my PC to install LibreELEC on a USB drive.

Plugged the LibreELEC USB to my android box and booted into Kodi (17.4)

    Played some streams form YouTube.

    Closed Kodi.

Unplugged USB from Android box and plugged it into PC.

Using Windows explorer I cannot see the .kodi folder on the USB.

I have show hidden files set in Windows explorer and can see .kodi folder on android builds, but cannot see the .kodi file on the LibreELEC USB :(

Drilling down on the USB I can see a .nomedia file, which I think means I can see hidden files on my PC.

When I look here E:\Android\data\org.xbmc.kodi\files the folder is empty.

How/Where can I find my Kodi folders on my LibreELEC USB?

simple put it on the usb stick in the main/root folder, name it as dtb.img

    Thanks for quick response.

The one I downloaded was called gxl_p212_2g.dtb, am I correct in understanding that I should rename it to "dtb, img"?

Did above and box would not boot, stuck on Amlogic logo :(

Put dbt.img that was installed when I burnt the LibreELEC image file to the USB back onto the USB and box boots into LibreELEC again now.

Just not sure that the device tree on my USB is the best one

I am creating a USB bootable stick.

The install instructions recommend downloading and installing a device tree.

I have downloaded a device tree.

How/Where do I install it on the USB stick?
