Recommendation for USB Tuner on raspberry pi3 in New Zealand

Hi,

I am looking for suggestion on good usb tuner for pvr & recording feature on my rpi 3 here in NZ.

Anyone using it can recommend it. I want to have all the freeview HD/SD channels. Please consider the price/availability as well.

I am not a pro in linux, so complicated setup would turn me off.

If anybody can also point me somewhere to look would do as well.

Currently, I am inclined to Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD, USB2 Stick Dual DVB-T/T2/C Tuner. Though not sure if this is the good choice or not. I have looked at some Chinese ones as well, though not sure if it would be good or not.

isn't that from satelite (idk what standards they are using down under) ?

I think DVB-T. I would like someone else to confirm as i am really just started on the whole pvr thing.

For DVB-T2 you need an antenna, for DVB-S2 you need an dish (wiki told me both is available). No idea what you need/have - do you have currently an setup box?

I have tried with an antenna directly connected to tv and it works. I am running libreelec on pi3. I am expecting to run pvr also on same pi. I read that both backend and client can be on same device.

that sounds good -> DVB-T

but do you have DVB-T or DVB-T2 - maybe there is some hint at your TV

According to Freeview_(New_Zealand) it is DVB-T.

Don't know about both of that. Will try to research more. But I found out that DVB-T is the required standard.
