ok so now it stops at the avahi build, I searched and found tons of results for the intltool error, unfortunately none helps 
both in the build folder and on my OS libtool is >= 0.35
intltoolize --version
intltoolize (GNU intltool) 0.51.0
It's the same perl regex error as the automake one. Replace all occurrences of "\${" with "\$\{" in build*/toolchain/bin/intltool-update
I'm considering creating a Ubuntu VM for these LE builds to avoid the compatibility issues.
I think there is also docker to build le.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it out and it works really well and probably better performance than a VM as it still uses all my cores.
indri not sure about the error but if you're building from master there have been changes to kodi patches in the last week so maybe do another git pull and try again.
Here's the fix. Or you can just bump automake to 1.15.1.
