Having successfully got LE working on my 905 box I dug out the old 805 and I have tried burning all three builds (HD18Q/MXQ/m201d) but I cannot get it to boot from the sd. When I followed the instructions for the 905 I needed a dtb.img file but I could find no mention of this for the 805, could this be the problem?
I am stumbling about in the dark here, please can someone shine a light? Thanks.
IIRC, there is no dtb.img file needed with s805. You are booting with the 'toothpick method', right?
If you are, make sure you
1) actually press the button (should hear a faint click)
2) press the button long enough (until the logo, give or take)
I guess it is also possible that the button is faulty.
Yes, using toothpick and the button is working as the box will not boot at all as long as I hold it in. As soon as I let the button go it boots into Android. No errors or indeed any indication that it is even looking at the sd card....
I just checked, the sd card is visible under Android so I guess it is OK.
Even though the SD card is visible under Android it's always worth a try to use a different card.
After that, I'm out of ideas. Hope you get it working, though!
Doh! I feel stupid. It turns out that this box has two buttons, and guess what..... the second one worked exactly as expected!
